+13 Internets | Painkiller Jane I was actually looking forward to this after catching the TV movie (almost pilot) late last year. Talk about a waste of time though. I'm really struggling to come up with any redeeming qualities for it. I wish that had kept the premise, and even actress, from the tv movie which seemed to be produced to a much higher quality. I'm curious what people who have read the comics thought of it, both versions really. |

| The comic is excellent, especially the Punisher/Painkiller Jane crossover issue written by Garth Ennis. Neither TV version bears even the slightest resemblance to the comic. I haven't watched the first episode of the series yet, but if you say that it's even worse than the movie that kills whatever hope I had for it. Edit: Yeah, that was pretty bad. Like Dolph Lundgren as the Punisher bad, in terms of how little it had in common with the original material. I'm sure that won't stop me from watching each week though... | How the PKJ movie + this pilot managed to get a series made, when something like Global Frequency, which had a pilot that actually kicked ass and was pretty damn close to issue 1 of the comic, gets canned forever without even being aired is beyond me. Not understanding the vagaries of Hollywood certainly isn't anything I'm new to though. |

+14 Internets | Speaking of Sci-Fi movie "pilots", I was always kinda disappointed they never made Riverworld. Sure it was almost nothing like the book, but the premise had alot of potential.
