| Prison Break As I didn't find any topic I thought it'd be time for one regarding this series. I got the first 18 episodes from and friend and during two nights another friend and I have seen this. So far, it's been really great. Like 8 or 9/10. Screening, music and the idea behind it is great. All the intrigues, plots and so on with all the various characters (who are perfectly casted) just does the thing. Even the "filler" episode where you return and see them before the actual events in the prison and so on was necessary and not a letdown. I like how "high" this is going, I'm not gonna add spoilers, but obviously this is much more than just a guy trying to save his brother from jail. Comments? Gladly with spoilers!

| I watched it up until the hiatus. I really wanted to like it, but found the show so unplausible that I just can't get that into it. I can't stand bullshit uses of technology on shows like this, 24, etc. I haven't watched any since it started up again because I want to just see it all at once without the added annoyance of the weekly "cliffhanger"... how many more episodes are left in the season? |

+19 Internets | Yeah with the way the last one ended I could see this lasting way too long. This should've been a one season show or a mini series, now it's going to be long and annoying... something always stopping these 'perfect plans' from happening. |

+37 Internets | Watched a bit of an episode here and there, and thought the show was godawful. Like, high production values and such, but awful. The main dude, the one all the chicks like, doesn't seem to have any fucking depth of character. Every picture I see of him, and every scene he's in, he's got that same kind of scowl/serious look on his face. He always talks in this annoying, semi-monotone (and again really serious) voice. And the implausibility of the show really gets to me. I caught an episode, or rather the end of an episode where they were going to break out by getting into the sewer or something like that. The dumb part was that this little area/floor drain in some storage room just happened to have like a 24" diameter massive forged steel pipe draining it. That's just fucking dumb. I guess it's the plumber/pipe fitter in me, but that totally insulted my intelligence (it would be 3" or 4" max). Note for all script writers (including you, Stephen King): IT IS FUCKING IMPOSSIBLE TO BREAK OUT OF PRETTY MUCH ANYWHERE USING A BUILDING'S SEWER SYSTEM. STOP USING THIS SHITTY, STUPID IDEA TO GET AROUND ACTUALLY THINKING CREATIVELY FOR ONCE. The pipes first of all are simply too small (an apartment building with 500+ suites would maybe have a 12" sanitary main). Second, even if they were huge like they always seem to be in movies/tv shows, you'd be dead within a few minutes if you tried to escape through one. Ever notice under your kitchen sink that little "p-trap"? How about if you look at a toilet from the side? You'll see somethign similar on most that's built into the toilet. Those are designed so that there is ALWAYS a 1" or more water seal, and the whole idea behind plumbing is preserving that seal. Because if you don't, sewer gas comes spewing out and will kill the building's occupants. Hydrogen sulfide, carbon monoxide, you name it, it's all down there. Puking a la Tim Robbins is the least of your fucking worries in a sewer pipe. Another thing that bugged me about a bit of an episode I saw: the whole "Oh you're a structural engineer? Help me build a card house for my wife" plot line of one of the episodes. Totally stupid, totally forced, and totally jacked from Shawshank (help the warden in return for special treatment). The more I think about it, the more this show pisses me off. |

I stopped watching this show after the first season. There was just way too much stupid shit going on. Miracle after miracle, and hang up after hang up. Unrealistic to the point of retardation imo. Sad too, I liked the show at first, it just dragged on too long, they should have escaped at the end of last season, I could've overlooked all the stupid shit that didn't make any sense.

| Um, what are you talking about, "first season"? There's only one season so far, it just had a 3 1/2 month hiatus in the middle--the most recent episode is S01E19, E20 is Tuesday, and E21 is the finale the week after that. They will escape by the end of the season obviously, and if the show is renewed for a second season it will be about what happens outside afterwards. |

| So the 21 episodes goes for season one and we assume they get out nowish in the near 21 or so. There's a second season then, which tells us about the outside? Rename the series I guess, hehe. Well, can't wait for the final 3 eps.

| Only 2 eps left. Current speculation seems to be that the second season will be called Prison Break: Manhunt. Also, I was reading a bit about the show today, and apparently the original plotline called for them to escape according to the original plan but the replacement pipe thing that stopped them was written in at the last minute so they could go do 8 more episodes. The show averaged 10 million viewers per episode, something FOX hasn't seen in ages, so they wanted to milk it for all it's worth. Last edited by Vorph : 04-30-2006 at 03:07 PM. |
