Ugly Betty

I haven't been around an average series lately, so I found time to invest and catch up on Ugly Betty. The show is great. I feed on drama and deceipt, but I also enjoy a decent comedy with an enjoyable atmosphere. This show manages to entwine them all in a fun way.

To summarize:
Betty Suarez lives with her widowed father, her older sister, and her sister's gay son (or extremely metrosexual.. he's about 13 years old). She stumbled upon a job at Mode Magazine as the newly appointed chief and editor's assistant, Daniel Meade, who happens to have obtained the job through family. The previous chief and editor (Fey Summers) was killed in a car accident. Daniel Meade's father (Bradford Meade) is in charge of the company, and had a long time affair with Fey Summers before the accident. The shows main villain is Wilhelmina Slater, played by Vanessa Williams.

For those who watch, what did you think about the true identity of the veiled lady? It's pretty hilarious if you ask me. I retardedly thought it was Fey Summers.

I started watching this show mainly because of the lack of TV on Friday and Saturday. I'm quite possibly dense, but I don't understand what you mean by your spoiler. Black text below:

I thought it was Fey too, even after the unveiling. Who is it if it's not her? I must be missing something here.

It's Alex Meade, the supposed dead brother of Daniel. HE had a sex change, and became Alexis Meade.

Has it started to not suck since the first episode? Caught the first episode and hated it. Poor little ugly girl plot = not entertaining.

It's alright I guess. It's mainly a filler for me, definitely not a favorite, but decent in it's own right. Sometimes it's kinda fun to cheer for the retard/ugly chick.

Heh, I'm addicted to this show. It's so off-the-wall stupid that it's hilarious. And yeah, this show probably had the best season premiere of anything.

I watched the first 5 or so of the first season, every episode felt the same. Ugly Betty is nice and vulnerable, someone rich and pretty tries to put her down but Ugly comes out in the long run. I was at my mom's during the season premiere and saw about 5 minutes of that and it seemed like virtually the same thing still happening.

It really picks up shortly after (the Christmas episode onwards?), and turns into soap opera whirlwind of WTFs. The fundamental hate-on-betty dynamic stays, but she becomes a central character that a lot of people depend on.

Neighbor tried to get me to watch this with her earlier. She called, come over lets watch Ugly Betty and Grey's. i was like ughh.. My Name is Earl is on. lol I am going to get it tomorrow, but that show is just not for me. Greys' i dont mind once in a while because of Kathrine Heigl.
