| Hellsing Ultimate OVA Hellsing Ultimate is not a followup to the TV series, it is a stand alone OVA that follows the manga storyline very closely. When I watched it through the first time last night, I had issues with the art style, mainly Alucard. After watching it again, it really isn't an issue anymore and I got use to it. The artwork between the TV series and the OVA is quite different. What Gonzo did was pretty amazing visually but it does not follow the art style of the Hellsing manga, which is also quite good. If you were one of those that read the manga, then saw the anime and was disappointed, you SHOULD watch the OVA. Even though Hellsing the TV series was very good visually, Gonzo changed a lot of aspect of the original story and had a really fucked up ending. for those who want to read the manga http://groups.msn.com/ATU-BOTI/miscmangasamples.msnw Last edited by The Dauntless One : 06-02-2006 at 09:18 PM. |

| I've never heard of the OVA before this thread, is it a new release? Ironically I was trying to find the Hellsing TV series to watch it again since it's been a while, guess I'll have to look into this as well.

| www.gotwoot.com has Hellsing Ultimate subbed... www.anime-xplosion.com has Hellsing the TV series subbed... there are plenty of other subs out there but these are the two that have active torrents EDIT: the ova part two is coming out in auguest... they pushed it 4 months back or something... hopefully the OVA is successful because that might help them launch a new tv series that is not total crap |

| The artifacting is pretty bad at parts, but I'd still take watching a less then stellar quality capture of it then not watch it at all. The one thing I did like a bit more about the tv show was the fact they developed the characters a bit more, Victoria especially. The action scenes do benefit from an improved budget, however.

| i've read 5 volumes of the manga and the original tv series was total trash... the story and character progression felt so empty and there were so many things that felt like its missing i have the first 6 volumes copied to my hard drive, if you want i can .rar and send it to you (so you don't have to read it on the website) |
