A few of my buddies watch this show with a vengenace, so I watched it with them the other night. I have to say, it is pretty damn good. I always considered this show to be FX's rebuttle to the Sopranos, so I never gave it a chance, but I was quite surprised. Gotta give props to shows like this that also push the envelopes of cable tv censors. I was surprised at what the Shield gets away with.

And to the OP, I've been watching this since season 1, it's awesome. It's cool when you look back how much each actor has grown in to thier character, and how much better the show gets every season. I'm kinda bummed they wrote off Glen Close, she was fucking amazing, she *made* last season. Hopefully Forest Whittaker does a good job taking her place.

The best Cop show in my opinion. It's clever, fun, violent and original at the same time. And the acting is particularly brilliant. The first seasons are incredible. Lately, they lost it a bit with the post-Money Train stuff (in my humble opinion.) The 4th season ending was good though. It should be great.

I just caught a bit of Chikliss on Ellen and he sounded 70% gay. Like, if I hadn't seen what kind of badass-edness he's capable of in the Shield I would have thought him a queer. Right after that Ellen chimed in with "It's funny how different you are from your character."

That was the whole allure of the show at first.....its The Commish on roids. He pulled a freaking 180 for this show and did it with bells on.

Season premiere kicked total ass. Forest Whitaker is going to be amazing this season his character makes me want to hurt him (even though he is doing the right thing) Should be a killer season. using Johnny Cash "Hurt" for the commercials for the premiere was fucking awesome as well.

Chicklis is the fucking man. The use of that song at the end (coldplay?) with the montage brought back throughts to the amazing season 2 finale where they did a montage with live's "overcome". It was a very good omen for this season. Amazing amazing opener.

Had never seen a single episode of this show. Decided to watch the season opener last night for kicks, as it looked like a pretty good show. I liked it alot. I was afraid i'd be lost as hell seeing as how I don't know anything about the series, but it was still kick ass and I'm going to watch it every chance I get now.

Do you guys think this might possibly be the final season? are they finally going to bring Vic down? I sure hope not this is the best show to be on TV in many many years. I'm wondering if Vic or someone might kill off the C.I. or Whitaker sometime this season.
