right Dog Bites Man is amazing, after a good double shot of Daily Show and the Colbert Rapport...Arrested Development was the greatest thing on tv until they cancelled it, resigned it to Showtime then the lead writer wanted to leave the show. classic.

Arrested Development is prolly one of the funniest shows I've watched in a long time. If you watch it though you have to start from the beginning because there are tons of inside jokes from earlier episodes that you'll miss.

p.s. fuck Fox

The Office for sure #1. South Park, Reno 911, that show that comes on before The Office.

I haven't seen any of the UK Offices, but the US one is fucking hilarious. I imagine people who don't think so and tout the UK one non-stop are just being snobby fuckwits.
I really enjoyed the UK Office, and only lately have I started to give the US version a chance again, and I'm digging it. It's hard to put a finger on it, but the akward tension that the show generates most of its humor from seems a little more forced in the US ones. Again, most likely because I started with the UK shows.
Arrested Development is hilarious. So many subtle jokes in it. I'm only now watching the part when Tobias is trying to join the Blue Man Group and there's blue handprints and fingerprints all over the house. And more keep showing up every episode. It's little consistent things like that that make that show so damned good.
But then again, I love David Cross. Which brings me to my all time favorite show, Mr. Show. It was hit or miss, but when it was on, oh man, it was on. Skits like "Monk Camp" and "Wykyd Scepter" are just too damned good.
Oh and Trailer park Boys is fucking awesome.

Gotta say my favorite funny tv show for some gauranteed laughs is: The Soup on E! This show helps me stay on top of the amusing tv moments and stories that I miss while playing WOW and having a social life, ok just the former. My favorite (Talk) Soup host over the years has been Aisha Tyler though--that girl is fine.

Best Week Ever on VH1 is alot like The Soup, and often quite funny, but for me the one-liners and just comments by one host on The Soup, as opposed to BWE's multiple C-list celeb comedians commenting on pop culture, make the Soup tastier for me.

Some of the teeny reality shows on MTV can be funny in a laugh-at-them kind of way (Next, Date My Mom, the reality/drama series').
