Saved by the Bell on Adult Swim

Now, initially I thought this was a terrible idea but in a super small dose of only the cheesiest episodes it is kinda funny. The show is just such an absurd slice of 80s youth culture I can't help but sit through it until Cartoon Network rewards me with something animated.

I also remember how the show was first introduced. Networks used to advertise the new season of Saturday Morning Cartoons with a Friday night special. The kids went on an adventure to see the new season and learn the name of the show they would be a part of. They made it back to class just in time and were "Saved by the Bell."

God, I can't believe I still remember this shit.

Also funny, tonight it was stacked side by side against Show Girls on Spike TV. In one half hour you could see the beginning and end of the career of Elizibeth Berkley.

The funniest parts are the brief clips where Adult Swim discusses the decision to air the show....I think one told the audience to eat it lol.

I missed the episode where Mr. Belding cut off Zach's head and absorbed all his powers.

For reasons concerning your own safety, any nerd would consider his health before reading further. The why and the how I retained such Saved By the Bell knowledge to this date is a mystery.

To discuss the screwed storyline of Saved By the Bell, we must start with the beginning. In the pilot -> the episodes prior the disappearance of Ms. Bliss/Milo the school was referred to as John F. Kennedy Junior High School, rather than Bayside High School as it is known for the most of the series. It was also mentioned in one of the earlier episodes, that the school is Indiapolis, Illinois rather than the California coast. So following the first episodes, Ms. Bliss, Milo, Mikey (the pre-AC Slater) vanished, while Zack, Screech, Lisa, Mr. Belding, and the entire fucking building migrated to California and changed it's name to Bayside High School.

In the following seasons, it stayed pretty much regular until the strange Kelly Kapowski // Tori Bikerchick switch-a-roo. Kelly vanishes and is replaced by this boyish biker chick named Tori who was only around for a short amount of time, which was shortly replaced by...Kelly again...

Yes. I know I am a huge nerd for knowing this, and an even bigger nerd for actually typing this up. It is the most boring god damn day at work today and I have NOTHING else better to do. Enjoy.

My fave is when Jesse gets all fucking addicted to uppers or caffeine pills, I forget what they are, and she goes all crazy and says "I'm so excited! I'm so excited! I'm so......SCARED!!!" or something to that effect lol

Crazy bitch, go get ready for Show Girls

Hmm..where to start. I think it's a terrible idea to have it on Adult Swim to be honest...and after seeing the last two episodes I feel even stronger about it. Fact is, it isn't funny. It might have been chuckle-worthy back in the day, but its the kind of thing where I just shake my head and ask 'Why'. The only redeeming thing about the whole thing is those little commercials they play where the color is all fucked up and it's slow motion...thats great. Play 30 minutes of that shit and it would be way better than a real episode.

No idea if any of this really had any affect but whatever.

Back in college one of my roomie's b/f's was the campus spokes-person (for lack of a better word) for adult swim. The dude was a tool but he got all sorts of posters and crap, would set up showing of various shows at the campus theatre , have the creators come in and talk about it etc.

It was pretty sweet b/c he was cool with the guys that made ATHF, so they would leave him messages on his phone in meatwad or shakes voice and such.

Anyways dudes g/f (my roomie) loved saved by the bell, with a passion, when they all hung out and got drunk she talked to the ATHF guys about it and i recall she said they liked it too.
