| Going by Comedy Central's website there is a tiny bit of information about the new episode on Wed. Apparently it has something to do with Family Guy. If I were to make a guess it would be that some of them like it (Cartman or Stan) and some of them don't (Kyle if it's Stan, both of them if it's Cartman). They'll make fun of it's formula, it coming back after being cancelled, probably make fun of Fox some, and then roll credits. |

| I love South Park and the social commentary they bring, but there are times I really don't agree with their views (maybe 1 out of 10). I know they don't care for Family Guy, and I know the Simpsons writers feel the same way, but isn't this just pure jealousy? Sure, Family Guy is a bit formulaic, and sometimes the humor is stretched but there are many genuine, funny moments that can only be attributed to good writing. |

Of course, all that can be funny, but the humour is not even close to the same level as it is on shows like South Park or The Simpsons.

| I'd agree with you Gryphe when it came to the first 3 seasons of FG, but as soon as the new ones were released the first thing I noticed was that they incorporated more unique, clever humor, instead of flashbacking to an iconic, old sitcom in order to mish-mash the dialogue for some cheap laughs. Although South Park varies more than most, the Simpsons is also pretty formulaic. The first segment is always some weird, off-the-wall situation that sets up the plot for the rest of the show. 95% of the time the first 7 minutes of any Simpsons episode has almost nothing to do with the rest of the story. Oh and I would say my heirarchy goes Simpsons -> South Park -> Family Guy, so as not to confuse me with a fanboy. To be fair though, I should mention that I haven't watched any of the new Family Guys, aside from the first 5-6 since it has been back. |

+4 Internets | In a lot of ways, Family Guy is almost kind of a "sketch" comedy show. I agree that they don't exactly have smooth transitions into their send-ups, but after the first couple seasons they basically just gave up even attempting to disguise them and now just revel in it. Personally I thought the 4th season was more consistently funny than the first three, and from what I saw of the 5th it's pretty good as well. The people who make Family Guy totally don't take themselves or the show seriously, that much is obvious, and I think that's why I prefer it. |

| /shrug Family Guy does that over and over in each episode and...so what? It's usually funny at least a little. It's what they do. I haven't seen this episode yet. I like both shows, but I find it a bit silly that Southpark would bash FG for doing something over and over when they've killed Kenny in nearly every episode. |

Family guy is funny, but Simpsons hit the nail on the head in the Sideshow Bob governs a small town in Italy episode from this season. There was a scene in the episode where the police are looking through the world's greatest criminals, a picture of Peter Griffon with the words Plagerisomo under him. It was funny, cause its slightly true. Family guy is great but alot of the times it just spoofs stuff that we all saw as kids or in the past in a way that is hilarious to most and to others how they always wanted it presented. I don't see them being jealous, if anything Family Guy is like the Eminem of rap, taking potshots at everyone. The episode where Stewie makes fun of people who worship ever line from the Simpsons is great. I remember watching that in a room full of people that do that, and laughing my ass off. I love the Simpsons, but Family Guy is right that sometimes people get overboard with that shit. "Shipoopi" musical is from the Music Man, Ball in a Cup, random cartoon references, You been kicked in the nuts, etc. All are just remakes of old stuff. Its funny but people who live in glass houses shouldnt throw stones at bigger competitors unless they can face the truth. I like the show though, even this new season that is losing some of its speed, but friday new season of Robot Chicken starts. so fuck it.

I haven't watched the Simpson's a whole lot in the past few years, but I caught an episode on Sunday that had one joke that made me fucking howl. Springfield had gotten a football team, and called it the Meltdowns. Carl says some goofy line about melting or something, then Lenny's like "I've got Downs Syndrome!!!" Fuck was that ever funny.
