Post Sopranos: Do you still have HBO?

This isnt a poll to see if you canceled over the ending of The Sopranos. I kept HBO for a few weeks, and then realized I didn't really watch it that much. The Sopranos was one of the only reasons I really had it in the first place.

Yes, I still have HBO. Flight of the Conchords, Entourage, Curb Your Enthusiasm in September. Those alone make it worth it to me. The HD plan I have with my cable gives me a choice of a premium channel. HBO is the clear choice, in my opinion.

Yes, Flight of the Conchords FTW.

I have also heard rumors of a mini series based on George RR Martin's Songs of Fire and Ice Series (Game of Thrones, etc) is in the works that I think would be pretty sweet.

That is easily my most anticipated TV series, but I don't see it coming for quite a while.

I was thinking of dropping Cinemax and picking up Showtime. I like Dexter and there is like nothing on Cinemax ever. Does Showtime have any other good shows?

There are other premiums i'd rather watch I suppose but I really don't watch many "shows/movies" on tv so I haven't bothered to change.

Sopranos was the main draw though.

Brotherhood, some people (not me) like Weeds, Californication has potential, and Masters of Horror is sometimes really good. Not sure if/when MoH is starting up again though, there was supposed to be two more seasons at least, but the production company is having issues now. They are also known for cancelling their best series, almost as bad as Fox. Personally I wouldn't pay for Showtime because of what they did to Dead Like Me, replacing it with Fat fucking Actress, but I'd still take it over Cinemax any day.

As for HBO, they've had their fuck ups in the past (cancelling Carnivāle and Deadwood for starters), but between True Blood this fall and Preacher + SoIaF next year(?) they're looking pretty good. At least they replace shows with other good shows.

It's a testament to their production staff that people attach HBO's value to their original shows now. I originally subscribed to HBO just to see the movies... I didn't really get into their shows until The Larry Sanders show. Nowadays yeah I pretty much just keep it for the shows.
