Fullmetal Alchemist

Anyone else watching this? The last episode is on next Saturday. It's great story-telling.

I assume it's the anime series?

I've seen all the episodes - definitely belongs in the section of good series. It's above average. The animation is great, and the general concept is pretty fine although that and the storyline does (imo) drag it a down a bit near the end. Not gonna spoil it, but it's worth watching it. Many people love this series to death.

I havn't been watching it on Cartoon Network because I don't like the voiceovers, but I watched the fansubs when they came out a while back. One of my favorite series. I still need to get around to watchign the movie though.

It's been slow as hell. It's on Toonami and of course the voice actings are fucking horrible. I'm waiting for them to release the uncut version in US.

Just to continue the derail, am I the only one who thinks Naruto would be 1000 times better if they cut about 85% of it? I thought that fight early on between Naruto and the creepy mirror kid (the one who owns Sasuke) was way badass; that black-and-white, pure-rage-mode Naruto was soooo cool. Then it was like boring as fuck for 40 episodes. My friend told me it picks up when Sandboy and naruto go at it, but that just felt like an episode of DBZ where each character is even more invincible than the last.

At the very least they could take out the cliche anime aspects, like where characters fall over when they're shocked by something, or the whole 'pouring tears out of your eyes' thing. Hell, maybe I just need a different anime altogether. Anyone recommend something in the lines of Naruto but with slightly less gay? (seen Berserk, but that's it as far as anime series goes)

Bleach (Subbed by Lunar-Anime)

Give it 10 or so episodes before you judge it, it gets a lot better. But it's in a filler arc right now (episode 61 starts the filler if I remember correctly) and is kind of slow and lacking a good story. But nowhere near as bad as Naruto fillers.

That's why I prefer the shorter animes like Cowboy Bebop. In Bebop there were maybe 6 or 7 episodes that truly progressed the story, but all of the filler episodes were awesome in their own right also.

If you enjoyed Bebop for it's shortness that was because Bebop wasn't a manga before it was made. Both Naruto and Bleach are, and since anime makers can catch up to manga faster, for a long in print series you get these filler arcs. Same thing happened with Rurouni Kenshin and you get the third season.

naruto is just purely long and boring... the episodes were dragged on way too much...too much thinking and reiterating...takes about 10 minutes of thinking before they do anything during fights
the manga is just as slow if not slower....one fight takes up so many chapters but in reality, there is so little action in each fight

k i can rant all day about naruto... anyway i will stop the derail

Anyone can link the torrent for the FMA movie? Searched a bit, but I'm never 100% certain about subs and so on.
