I think some of that also has to do with him covering his ass. Realistically, what else does Lucas have besides Star Wars? He hasn't come out with anything successful besides SW in nearly 20 years (if you count Willow.) Ok, yes, he had a hand in Indiana Jones, but I guess it's sort of up in the air if that was "Visionary George Lucas" or really just Spielberg being able to reign in some of his stupidity. I think George Lucas doesn't want to give Star Wars away for fear he'll have no other ideas.

| I'd kill a man for a TV series on Thrawn. That story is great because it feels like an actual Star Wars movie/series. Unlike EP1-3 which felt like not Star Wars. But since the show is slated to be about Luke's younger years, I really want to know what kind of content it will have? All I can think of is him aspiring to go to the academy, the formation of the rebellion, the empire growing, obi-wan watching over him etc.. That could be mildly entertaining. People constantly lying to him about his past, Obi-Wan and his Aunt/Uncle almost blowing their cover and his true past. But fuck, we know what the outcome is, any suspense over those topics is dispelled immediately. You know he isn't going to be using the Force or anything. He could barely use a blaster in ANH. The whole thing isn't going to deliver. |

| OMG, did you catch last week's episode? The duel between Obi Wan and Vader was awesome! They tried to give you this impression during Episode 4 that they hadn't seen each other in a while but this is much better. And I've got one word for Yoda guest starring... Brilliant! I can't wait.

| Two new series coming, one is a cartoon like the Clone Wars about Republic Commandos, and the live series is TAKING PLACE during the period of Luke's childhood, it is not ABOUT Luke's childhood.

| There seems to be a lot of rumors that Quinlan Vos, a popular Jedi from the series of comics set during the Clone Wars is supposed to be a central character. He is only mentioned briefly in Episode 3 by Obi-Wan and in the EU, he has a pretty big storyline. Apparently, he is supposed to be one of the few Jedi to survive Order 66. Obvioulsy this is just heresay at this point however Lucas requested that there be some rewrites in the final Clone Wars comic books so that Vos survives which would make sense if her plans to use the character in the series. |

+1 Internets | post-ROTJ has already been written (in many, many books spanning many, many years), so I doubt that they'd make a movie (either based on the book or a new plot). http://www.randomhouse.com/delrey/st.../timeline.html edit. someone already mentioned it, but if you do pick up those books, thrawn trilogy = win |

As to the Thrawn trilogy, good start, weak finish. Sucky part about the series is a lack of character development. Yah, yah, we get it, he knows your culture's art, therefore he'll pwn you. You get more character development in Vader between SW and ESB...just in how he acts and how people react to him, than you get from Thrawn in all the pages written about him. But then, pretty much any development is greater than none. But on a good note, at least Zahn does keep a YR-1600 rare, as opposed to making them super common like other books/games like to. Quote:
Anyway, personally, if they were to make a series, I'd rather see it set in the Tales of the Jedi era. Lots of Jedi, lots of stuff that isn't detailed, can have plenty of Sith.

There is only one thing to do when you have a power tripping DM running amok. You start a new game with someone else at the helm.
