Before Logan was wtfpwned, he confirmed with his flunkies that they had a plan to take care of Jack Bauer. This strongly suggests that they facilitated the Chinese kidnapping of Bauer.

That is an interesting thought. However, it would make the United States look REALLY bad, because Logan basically admits that Bauer never really died. Even though the government wasn't aware of it, the Chinese wouldn't give two shits. Also, if he was going to go that route, why didn't he get the Chinese involved the moment he found out that Bauer wasn't really dead? Would have saved a lot of heartache on his behalf.

during season 4 jack and others went onto a chinese embassy? i think. one of the men was ID'ed from video that was on that raid. he was a dumbass and took his mask off. a chinese guy was killed so the chinese dudes wanted revenge. they kidnapped the guy and made him turn over jack as being responsible. jack faked his death at the end of season 4 to escape the whole thing.

by the time 24 hours goes by in season 5 the chinese found out he was alive and got him. they might torture the fuck outa him for awhile. however, like was posted above when the chinese guy said, "you're too valuable" I started thinking they were gonna use jack in some manner.

I was having a look at the imdb trivia page for the Da Vinci Code when I found this..

The irony is that the Chinese shot their own guy in the back during the cross fire, but blammed it on the United States.

Just heard some minor-ish spoilers for the next season of 24 -- complete hearsay, unsure of the veracity or the source, but interesting nonetheless:

Next season takes place 1-2 months after Jack's return from China (1-2 years after last season); Wayne Palmer is president (!), and Kim is coming back!

Unsure of how to do the spoiler tag stuff so I did the black text.

God damn leave Cuthbert off the show. As someone in my office said "she's like the dumb chic in scary movies". Seriously you can tell her there's a serial killer under her bed and to sleep at a hotel tonight and she'll still do what she wants. Her acting is bad and she's boring.

I heard the DVD set includes a preview of the new season. I haven't seen it but someone said it looks like Jack is a police officer over there or something.
