The POV got annoying after a while, mostly because of the blurring and constantly focusing/losing focus. When he first woke up it was understandable, but to have to watch about 1/3 of the episode like that was way too much. It would have been a much cooler plot device without it.

I thought this episode was exciting and new. Honestly, I've never even heard of this syndrome so I wikipedia'd it and it sounds very fucking frightening. It was a really well done episode, imho.

That POV shit sucked and so did the little scene shifting 20 questions, out of body experiance stuff. They tried something new, it was terrible, let's hope we don't see it again.

Well, technically this episode used the same formula as every other episode. Guy gets sick, House's team makes a quick diagnoses, directly before or at the beginning of treatment, a new symptom emerges, team goes through process 2-3 more times while more symptoms emerge, something coincidental happens that sparks House getting the correct diagnoses, which can almost always be cured/treated.

Meanwhile, somebody has a new secret in their personal lives. Option A. House has a secret, he leads the people who are trying to figure out what it is down the wrong path and convinces them that their false assumptions are correct. At the end of the episode(after the patient is cured, or even coinciding with his epiphany moment), his secret is revealed, but always in a fashion such as to disappoint his friends.
Option B. Somebody who isn't House has a secret, House attempts to analyze his way into an answer, is usually close, person retaliates(how is dependent on whether the person is 1. Cuddy/Wilson or 2. Employees). For example, Wilson tries to emulate House be attempting to convince House that his false assumptions are correct, which never holds up for more than 2 scenes. House then takes said secret and essentially gloats about having figured it out(this can be by giving advice, teaching a lesson, or retaliating against the person's initial retaliation).

There are episodes that don't follow this formula, but they are the exception. This most recent episode was not one of them.

^^^ I watch House because I findthe banter between the characters entertaining, in seeing how House will manipulate the other characters, and what event will trigger him (or an underling) to solve the case. If he could solve every case without any missteps it would be pretty boring.

and because

I wasn't saying the formula was bad... just pointing out that the most recent episode stayed within the lines.

The POV itself was okay, but the actor playing the sick guy's yelling-in-his-head was beyond annoying.

I actually like mos def most of his roles are shitty, but he's not a bad actor. I thought he was good in Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, even if the movie wasn't.

No way they would do that.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Cuddy's baby dies maybe, it will be nothing like that though as Taub is shown crying. Unless that is a side story where he leaves his wife because he wants kids.
