I think Wilson will point to the time he lost his job because of House's habits, and got his bank accounts frozen because of House's habits, and all the other crap that has happened because of House's habits-- and I think he'll say hey, now you indirectly got my girlfriend killed because of your habits. Not so unreasonable, and he'll be grieving, so it's believable. I think that'll be the story arc for the first half of next season, maybe with some Wilson self-destructive behavior thrown in because he's grieving.

Agreed. I love House as a character, but at times he's a bastard and inconsiderate as hell.

By itself the situation wouldn't have been as bad, but House has used Wilson as a friend so many times the relationship would likely be strained. It will give Wilson the reason (excuse?) to stand up to House and finally say "enough is enough", and House a reason to examine his behavior.

As an aside, I can't wait to see something develop between House and Cuddy. I still can't see her on screen without striptease flashbacks

What I thought might happen was after House went into a coma, he might have stayed there, and Foreman would have had to step up to lead the team. Might still be possible if they decide that House is under diminished capacity for the short term. Not sure if the show could survive without house, even for a short period, but might work with him as a patient.

I think House is going to contemplate quitting, and it will be a quadrangle attempt to solve his problems.

1) Cuddy because she feels for him personally, but also because she wants her pro diagnostician.
2) Wilson because he hates/grieves against House, but realizes in the back corner of his rational mind that he is being irrational, and he feels House is his best friend too.
3) The new Trio because invariably, House has forced them to step up for themselves, and yet they are unfinished products.
4) The old Trio because invariably, House made them step up for themselves, and they ARE finished products. They realize House is dependent on them, and will not begrudge him their help.

First few episodes will be guilt study episodes, as House goes through where his relationships with everyone as a study. He'll be waging war against the guilt he invariably feels vs. the rational mind; ie, none of it really was his fault.

In Over All. House will be the study/patient. He Job/position the McGuffin factor. The 4 parties his Diagnostician. All the rest will be catalytic moments.

I felt originally (pre writer strike) that the original team would be back by the end of season 4. Let's see how the start of 5 plays out because I still could very well be right (technically since the first 5 or 6 eps of 5 will be the end of 4). Now what I'm wondering is whether the upcoming fall season will be longer because of the strike as to balance out stories. Otherwise you're going to have stuff getting played out way too fast.

I'm not just talking about House but rather all shows.

I want to see how they play out her positive test for Huntington's. I felt they re-used the Cameron/AIDS storyline with 13/Huntington's (in a way, drawing out whether or not she had the disease). The end result is obviously different, but I don't think they'll kill off 13.

Amber's character was pretty much a sacrifice without having to kill a major character of the show. It adds more strain to House and Wilson's relationship, it allowed insight (finally) in the life other member's of House's team (finding out about Kutner's parents), and it gave 13 a realization that she needs to take care of herself. Watching Amber die wasn't so much what messed her up as it was the 20 something doctor who died young.
