+166 Internets | Part of the problem I have with Atlantis is it's too huggy-touchy-feely at times with what's her face in the lead. I mean, she's not likeable at all. I hardly find myself ever wanting her to win. They should scrap her and put the dude from the ship in charge, then it might have some fun again. The only reason I still watch at all is for David Hewlett and occasionally Flannigan. Not only that, but the wraith were supposed to be this new super evil ohmygosh hardc0re! but they really had nothing on the SG-1 villains. Faceless, no real personality. Oh noes, they hiss and suck life, oh noes! I think they began to realize this as they introduced people who worship the wraith, but meh. Too little too late. Once the novelty of McKay and Beckett wears off, I don't think I'll continue to watch. In much the same way I only watch SG-1 for Shanks and Judge. The other 'replacements' just don't hold a candle to any of the 'original' cast. They're just not likeable. The closest is Black as Vala but only because of her interaction with Dr. Jackson. At least the Orroi aren't as pathetic as the wraith though. Vengeful smiting > wanna-be vampires in space. I stopped watching BSG about halfway through season1 just because, again, I couldn't really like any of the characters. |

+49 Internets | Your loss on BSG. Man cant wait for part 2 of this last week's episode. "She has to be killed". Then Adama is all "wtf did she just say?". The dual-plotting going on was a nice touch too.

| And one of the great things about BSG is how it's characters are very true to their moral codes. You can see in every decision Adama makes how that decision fits into his view of crew as family. Even some stuff you might boggle at makes sense in a certain context. The same is true with all the other characters. And at the same time, it's also very hard to guess at what might happen next or how each person will attempt to solve their problems. |

+9 Internets | The Wraith are the typical, crappy sci-fi villain. They remind me of something that you'd see on a sci-fi show spoof skit on Mad TV or SNL. They should wrap up the Wraith storyline as quickly as possible and introduce a better villian. Maybe give the Genii a larger role as villians, cause they can be pretty badass. The Gou'ald were by far the best, I doubt either SG-1 or Atlantis will be able to top them. Were they tacky, sometimes campy, and overdramatic? Hell yeah, but I liked how the characters on the show actually acknowledged those as Gou'ald traits. The Ori are alright so far, I'm anxious to see some more of their technology and ships and whatnot, cause we've really seen almost nothing of them so far other than their pryor servants. I do think Atlantis has some decent humor. The stuff about armies of clowns storming out of sedans in last week's episode had me chuckling. Lots of other times they've gotten me to lol, like on the time travel episode where they madea few back to the future jokes. P.S. Christopher Judge needs to not open his mouth ever again. He's a craptastic actor. The show is best served when he just makes his humorous facial expressions in response to Daniel and Mitchell's comments. All this shit with the Jaffa Council is good and all, but it involves far too much acting on Judge's part. |

| Does Colm Meaney have a recurring role in Atlantis? I haven't seen past the first season (if that much). But goddamn anything that has him in it is OK. Last edited by Iannis; 01-10-2006 at 11:06 PM.. |

I actually think the Genii are the most interesting Bad guys on Atlantis. Their actions are so despicable most of the times, and yet so much closer to what our governments would acutally do. | |

+13 Internets | This show is starting to age, and it's a shame they changed RDA out, but at least it's not as bad as the last two seasons of X-files. The idiotic banter is still there, and Ben Browder does it well enough. Personally, I find SG-1 fine where it is now, just as good as it was. Atlantis needs a little more character change. Someone needs to toughen up Weir, or boot her ass. And sometimes I wonder why Tayla is on the show. Oh yeah, hot babe factor. Not all shows need a hot babe, it just doesn't work everytime. DS9 didn't have one! Sure, Kira was pretty, but you can tell, especially if you watched the first few seasons, that she wasn't cast as the hot babe. And let's not even talk about Dax. P.S. Ronin Dex is what Teal'c should have been. He's badass just eating food.

But, rejoice, because Colm Meaney is in the 17th episode of this season according to IMDB.

| Yeah, he was the head of some human faction who were going to nuke the Hive ships while they slept. They tried to doublecross the Terrans but the Terrans were ready for it and instead they stole leet beta infoz from the Genii. I thought they were cooler than the Wraith. It would be nice to finally have some pissed off equal-level alien Human culture to go against in Stargate. You had the political shit in SG-1 but never had any antagonistic humans outside of the NID who repeatedly appeared :/ Quote:

And then he flat out says "Pull out your side arm and shot admiral cain in the head." I think there will be some 'wtf' type controversy after this weeks show as to how this resolves however ![]()
