+1 Internets | I am a MASSIVE Alias fan, so I was naturally attracted to Lost. Unfortunately (or fortunately?) I missed the first few episodes of season 1 of Lost last year, so last week I rented the whole first season on DVD from Netflix and watched it all. I got immediately hooked and now I'm all caught up and watching season 2. Now comes the horrible waiting from week-to-week to see the next episode ![]() I think I might have to start waiting for shows to get cancelled before watching them. It's so much nicer to be able to watch them on DVD...no commercials and no waiting between weeks or seasons to have cliff hangers resolved. |

| Gotta agree.. I am not a huge fan of TV at all, but the production and writing that goes into this show rivals most big budget hollywood films. I too rented the entire season1 dvd at blockbuster to catch up and am now hooked. I will say, I am damn close to buying a TiVO. The commercials drive me absolutely crazy. Seems we cant go more than 10 minutes without commercial breaks in the show. In Season1, most shows were about 41-42min in length. Thats nearly 20min of commercials... damn rediculous!! If I werent so damn hooked on the show, I would just wait for it on DVD, but cest la vie. ![]() There is a huuge web based fan following and lots of Lost websites with some really good elaborate theories of what is going on. Some theories are a bit out there, but some are well documented with screenshots. There are lots of little clues in the background in the flashbacks that seem to tie each of them together (directly or indirectly). **SPOILER WARNING if youre not up to date on episodes** One of the best finds I have seen is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bernal_sphere The crazy guy down in the hatch just happens to be named "Desmond Bernal". I am not saying its what the hatch is, but there are lots of things that are thrown in and seem quite coincidental... intentionally or not by the producers. Good stuff! |

| Season One of "Lost" was one of the best seasons of TV I've ever seen. It was absolutely brilliant. I'm not in love with the direction they seem to be heading in Season Two, though. I'll give it time to play itself out, but it seems kind of campy and stupid so far. |

+1 Internets | Would a separate forum for TV be out of line? Not trying to overstep my boundaries here or derail the thread but it is a question that has been in the back of my mind concerning this forum for a while now. |

| No, your question isn't out of line at all... The original line of thinking was that TV discussion could be included here because it's a pretty narrow subject, and doesn't necessarily warrant its own board. But you may have a point. It seems there has been a lot of stimulating new TV discussion lately, and it may deserve its own place. We'll see. |

| I just finished watching the first season dvds and the first three episodes of season two yesterday and all I can say is that this show is wicked cool. The writing and direction are top notch. |

+29 Internets | I honest to goodness ~almost~ cried when Hurley's CD player's batteries died. 8(. Luckily I have huge balls made out of pure steel that make me incapable of crying, only generating more armpit sweat. |

I actually laughed out loud IRL when that happened. But was cool, it was some mellow music playing at full while the camera pans over each person / group of people relaxing in their evening routine and finally the camera pulls back to Hurley with his headphones on sitting on the beach. Mid-song.. it cuts out and you realise the batteries died. It was funny, but then seemed a bit ominous as that sense of relaxation was suddenly cut short and back to the reality of their fcked up situation. Cool scene indeed. ![]() | |
