| Well, they said "torch" the island, and it looked like they were loading rockets or other explosives onto the chopper. I'd take him at his literal word, he plans to fire a bunch of explosives onto the island, creating gigantic fires to force Ben to flee to the "fallback position" where they can try to capture him. Perhaps the Dharma folder details the Temple location where they can try to re-capture him. He also uses the threat of the triggers on his arm to warn the captain not to attack him, which further suggests explosives he is carrying (and the arm patch is the trigger). Also Abbadon's referral to an Australian walkabout to me hints that Abbadon has been on the island, and thats what "changed" him. Perhaps a black rock survivor, who knows. Clearly something is going on with Richard, Whidmore, Jacob, Christian, Abbadon, and Ben that takes place both on the island and off, we just don't know how they all tie together yet. +18 Internets | The logo on the protocol book was also the same logo that was on the parka Ben was wearing when he appeared in the desert. Might be a clue of some kind, maybe it means the place Ben is going is some kind of teleportation hatch? |

| Its the Dharma project logo... you know... the guys kinda central to the whole storyline... maybe you should go back and rewatch a few episodes. (although the show is getting too convoluted at this point, falling quickly into the trap of not being able to make any sense for new viewers or anyone whos missed a few episodes). |

+18 Internets | Rofl. There are different Dharma logos, one for each hatch. The Pearl is white, the Flame is fire, etc. This one is some kind of weird spiraling shape. I was simply saying the one on the parka and the one on the book were the same, meaning they were related to the same hatch. |

| have we ever seen even seen jacob? everytime Locke has seen someone in the cabin its been christian, maybe jacob was only there for Ben or it was a complete lie that Ben made up to manipulate the Others and he was shocked when Locke really did see someone. |

If not, and I don't think there is anything in there that does, then it is probably Dharma made. If it is Dharma made (and if you look at the original biblical source of the quote, a convincing argument can be made that the DI is the Jacob that will survive the Numbers-altering intentional apocalypse that the Esau commoners will not), then "Jacob" is a creation of Ben to use the Room 23 video to keep his flock in line (and I've pointed out before, with Juliet in the missing pieces and the beach others in the season 3 finale, how badly they lose their composure when Ben's omnipotence is questioned). The one question is does either Horace or Christian explicitly call him Jacob in the last episode? According to memory & Cabin Fever transcript - Lostpedia they don't, meaning that we only know "his" name from Ben. I'd think by now you people would learn to stop making assumptions, especially based only on information characters known to lie endlessly have said.

i'd wager that the test was them trying to figure out how long their real rockets will take to reach the island, and the device on his arm is the target for the missles that will be fired from the ship to 'torch' the island.

| when i first saw that armband i thought of predator and just assumed its some kind of auto destruct mechanism. maybe it launches rockets maybe it blows up the freighter. whatever it does is a failsafe in case Keamey fails to kill Ben and everyone else on the island. |

Interesting to compare John's birth to Ben's. I didn't remember that scene till looking at those transcripts. Clearly intentional. And part of the passing of the torch from Ben to John it seems.

I really enjoyed the last episode. The Hurley/Ben candy bar scene was great, but my favorite part of the episode was the look on Ben's face when they arrive at the mass grave. When they finally arrived at the cabin, did anyone notice if it was surrounded by the "ash" barrier that we saw when Ben first took Locke to see Jacob?
