Anyone watched this? They are kicking the hell out of the conspiracy people who think the moon stuff was faked. The simulation in the 1/6 earth gravity was flawless.

Every (sane) person knows the moon landing wasn't faked. If it was, Russia would have called our asses on it years ago, because it's 100% certain they were tracking every second of the mission, and intercepting all of the communications as well.

But yes, the Mythbusters are being thorough and convincing in their tests and proofs.

Excellent episode, they debunked all the important moon hoax myths. for the hell of it, i went over to to the mythbusters message board and the nutcakes are screaming bloody murder over this. it seems they are claiming since NASA helped out the MB team with this episode that Adam and Jamie are in the tank with NASA or that NASA cooked the results. fucking insane.
btw did anyone notice that Jamie looks beat to shit this season? the right side of his face looked like he used it to hammer some nails in.

A friend helped out with the flag part of the episode, so I pretty much had to watch. Pretty cool overall. I'll have to check out the Mythbusters messageboards to see all the uproar over the episode.

The sheer amount of idiocy on the Mythbusters forum is scary. One guy thought it took 4.5 years for sunlight to reach Earth.

To be fair, that's probably a misunderstanding if he said 4.5 years, as that's about the distance to Alpha Centauri.

I think they pretty much smashed all these wack-o's straight up. I think the best line of the whole episode though, was when Adam said he wanted to change out of the suit, and Jamie just muttered, "Baby" at him. So great.

My wife also noted that Jamie looked a bit roughed up. Wonder if we'll see why in some future episode. Or maybe he just took a tumble off his treadmill.

To be fair, if the speed of light was really that slow the poster wouldn't have a computer capable of posting that stupidity. Actually all computer and communication technology including the internet, television, or basic telephone service would be impossible as well.

Fun Fact: Computers have already reached the limitation of the speed of light. Computer development is changing to multiple cores rather than faster processors because the actual speed of light (299,792,458 m/s or ~8.3 minutes from sun->earth) is too slow. Modern computer clock speeds are measured in Gigahertz, or billions of cycles per second. 1.0 GHz means in one clock cycle light will only travel ~33cm, 3.0 GHz would be ~11cm.

Note that those calculated distances are based upon the optimal speed of light which is moving in a straight line inside a vacuum, and neither occurs on a computer chip. At even faster clock cycles, the electrons would not be fast enough to travel from one end of the processor to the other in only one cycle, and calculations would stall.
