| Spoiler End of 209, Walt types with proper grammar and punctuation? A 10-year old doesn't, even if he's an appariton. "helo" "Hello" "who r u lol" "I'm Michael. Who is this?" "dad??????????????????????????????" And for fuck's sake, can't they just make a two-parter with some major relevation soon, it feels like I'm eating half a meal every episode. |

+20 Internets | spoilers (highlight to read) I really enjoyed the last part of 209, but the missing film stuff was really lame... was hoping it would contain something relevant. They're really milking these episodes now, the flashbacks are very meh, the time on the island is still great, but we simply don't get enough of it.

+2 Internets | The funny thing about Adewale(insert big african name here), the guy that plays Mr. Eko, is that he's actually British. Has a British accent and everything. But he always played african people. And yeah I like his character=) As for the flashbacks, they are a part of the show. And they are still needed. The horse Kate saw? All the new people from the tail of the plane(like you don't want to see an Eko flashback?). The show was really slowing down but it's getting good again now. And now that Ana Lucia is with the rest of them maybe they'll lay off the stupid fucking "I'm a tough latin girl who won't take no shit from no one despite the fact that I'm female!" bullshit. Then I'll be able to tolerate her I guess. Of course, waiting til january 11th for a new episode is gonna suck balls...

| Yeah the flashbacks are what makes the story its like that Seinfeld you got to watch in reverse when they go to India. The fact that the stick that Ecko carries will have a flashback may be going a little overboard though. The fact we have to wait so long sucks but then again waiting for a few months for Prison break to finish sucks even more.

| They've wasted too much time on the tail people, their story should have been spread out throughout the season rather that devoting half the seasons to characters many people dislike. I don't think Ecko is meant to be african, I believe he's an australian aborigine. Quote:

Wow.... That show is like a case study in bad acting. Everyone on the show is absolutely horrible.

| Season two has been such a let down. It's agonizingly slow, but worst of all, it's turned into a fluffy soap opera instead of a character driven thriller/adventure. The 'mythology' and 'mystery' of season two have been cheaply developed and presented as little more than gimmicks. They're shaped more towards the next episodes' preview than they are for plot development. Season one had its dull moments, but even at its worst, it was better than the direction this season is taking. The character react to the island and its events as if they were characters from days of our lives. Sure, Eko is great; but he needs to be since they've removed Locke's mystical mojo. How much more can they reveal with the flashbacks too? We now know about these characters. We know the shocking revelations of their past. They're going to have to reveal even 'greater revelations' about these characters if they stick with the flashback method. I can't wait till they start showing flashbacks from their previous lives, how being re-incarnated from who they were hundreds of years ago has shaped their pysche today. I simply don't see how they can maintain the flashback/present island method. It's just not interesting anymore. Most of the flashbacks this season have already been implied through the character's original flashbacks and or island chit-chat. We don't need half a show wasted on visuals that reveal nothing about the character. Ana Lucia is quite possibly the biggest slap in the face yet to the viewer. Due in large part to the actress' inability to play a character different from SWAT and Blue Crush (the same in your face, tuff latino chick.) It's as if the writers are attempting to compensate for a bad character by bringing out more and more 'shocking' backgrounds so that we'll overlook her one punch knock outs and horrid acting. "Awww she was holding the two kids at the funeral." "Awww she cried on day 40." "Awww she was a loyal public servant who got shot." "Awww she lost a baby when she got shot." Seriously, straight from a damn soap opera. What is next? Did Ana Lucia attempt to die for the sins of humanity but was rejected by God? AWWWW! Sympathy for her inability to show a facial expression beyond the scowl of disdain. Fortunately, with her recent DUI and the warrents issued for failing to appear in court (along with possible probation violations in LA,) she may have to serve some jail time -- thus, not only putting bad PR on ABC/Lost, but interfering with production. Anyway, they lost a key writing figure from season one. Not only in terms of individual plots, but also in terms of providing feedback during the brainstorming process. Personally, I enjoyed his episodes (such as Walkabout where we find Locke was paralyzed.) I don't know what else has changed over there but the quality of this season has gone down the drain. There are production mistakes every episode (Anyone catch the horse trainer's hand at the end of the last episode?) Script mistakes every episode where the writers tell fans to not take what they saw as official canon; and a overwhemling sense of not knowing where to take this show. So here's to season one being the best show I've seen in several years. As for season 2; Downloads and DVDs from now on. I'm just not interested enough to watch it on ABC anymore. | It's pretty obvious that they have no idea where the show is going and that they are writing stuff at the last minute. Yet, I still enjoy it. I agree that season 2 has been disappointing, but it still has some good moments. The latest episode about Kate was pretty good (even if it doesn't always make much sense.) The only good thing in season 2 is Eko. As someone said ^, he's a fit replacement for the tough_but_mysterious guy role, that Locke kinda lost. Only problem is I can't shake the feeling he's going to wear his ridiculous little hat and start raping other guys left and right. |

| Well, it's obvious to me that they had to go balls-to-the-wall in season one, simply because they didn't know if it would be a hit or not. I'm sure they had a lot more of the first season scripted out. But all of a sudden, they have a massive hit, and they now know they have to stretch their overall story arc over (supposedly) four seasons. Of course, it's going to be slower paced than the first season. Me, I'm a patient guy. I'm still enjoying this season as much as the first, but of course, that's just my opinion. Either way... even if it has lost a step or two, it's still head and shoulders above any other show on TV. |
