The reason why I am not so eager to see the next season is that I have yet to see the point of going back to the island. I mean, as far as Jack and company know... there is not many important people alive. They think the following people are dead:
-Jin
-Sawyer
-Michael
-Locke

So who is left in the island? Can someone come up with a list?
-Miles
-Charlotte
-Juliette

I can see Jack caring for Juliette somehow, but why the need to go back? And who was the one who Jack talked to? And what could possibly be happening in the island as a consequence of Jack leaving?

So the island was programmed to constantly move unless interrupted?

I guess I'm the only person who likes Michael. I totally get his motivation, I felt it was one of the more believable aspects of the show.

He did know he wasn't making another trip to get more people to the freighter, but I don't think it had anything to do with knowing the freighter was going to blow up. Remember he was telling Miles and Charlotte that it was dire that they were on the boat this trip.
Additionally, there is something bigger afoot than him knowing the freighter was going to blow up from reliving events again like it seems Desmond was doing. He wouldn't have been trying to get Charlotte, who he seemed to have feelings for, to go with him if he knew it would end in disaster.

I also think that Daniel's boat got sucked into the future/new location with the island. IIRC the second island with the Hydra station from season 3 was 2 or 3 miles off the coast of the first island, and the freighter had pulled to within 5 miles of the coast of the main island and Daniel's zodiac wasn't at the freighter yet when the island poofed...Hydra island poofed = everything within 3 miles of the island poofed, so Daniel poofed too.

Also, what is the significance of a few episodes back when Hurley tells Jack "I'm sorry I went with Locke's group." If he hand't gone with locke, then then jack and sawyer would not have gone back to get him, then they would not have ended up crossing paths with everyone as they did to end up on the chopper to be rescued.

Also, do you think it's possible that in season 2, when they didn't enter the #s in the computer in the finale, and it exploded, that it could have caused the island to move?
Jack tells the others in the raft right before they get rescued that they must lie about their experience, because someone sank a plane and sent mercs to the island to kill them all. They spent a week moving on Pennys boat closer to the "fake" wrecked plane, obviously Whidmore knows they are all lying (they didn't crash anywhere near there!) but chooses not to act against them, until at least Locke returns from the Island - Whidmores first shot in 3 years at finding new location? Locke tells Jack to hide the island because "its a place of miracles", so obviously he doesn't want random tourist groups looking for it.

The losties split into the Jack/beach/rescue group and the Locke/stay group a while back, Hurley went with Locke's group and is apologizing for that. Hurley also kind of double crossed Jack once or twice I think at Lockes camp, probably apologizing for that.

And yeah, the fact that the island "move" was the same graphic effect (white light, noise) as the "final key being turned" by Desmond seems to imply some connection. Of course Desmond didn't get thrown off the island, he instead went into some sort of time travel experience for a number of episodes, until he "found his constant", after which he seems to have stopped time traveling completely.

Don't forget Jack wasn't really hardcore about going back to the island until Locke apparently returns from it (or Locke clone). He kept his distance from Kate/Aaron because Christian told him to do so, but he was more or less ok at Kates trial, etc which happened a year or so after return? Clearly Locke has said some things which is very disturbing, Kate does not believe it but Jack does. He should know whether Michael, Sawyer, Jin, Rose, Claire, Juliet, Rose, etc are alive or dead and what else has happened. So what would Locke say that Jack believes, Kate does not, and drives Jack to want to return to the island so bad? people are alive that he felt he killed - Jin, Claire, etc?

Its suprising as well that Walt hasn't been used somehow by Whidmore/Abadon/Ben in the 3 years since the return. Would seem to be an obvious method to return to the island, perhaps only Ben knows about it.

No, it moved when Desmond turned the failsafe. As in, the bright flash in the sky that caused the plane to crash. The island probably poofed right under where the plane was in the sky. It's also not unreasonable to assume then that the plane was torn in two because it was crossing this barrier we know so little about (except you should stick to whatever headings someone gives you).

Except for the fact that there were dozens of people living on the island and there is no evidence they noticed any bright light associated with the island move. We have the whole bookclub scene with some rumbling, but no bright light.

You're confusing Desmond almost letting the timer run out and the actual time the timer ran out completely and had to turn the key.

Really hated the scene where Sayid gets Hurley and he's like "Check Mate Mr. Ecko". So corny

Hugo was one of my favorite characters in the first seasons... but lately I have stopped liking his character completely. On the helicopter scene I was hoping they would push him out!

I miss Hugo listening to his headphones at the end of most of the season 1 episodes.

Same. He's totally unlikable now. And a crytit about being a millionaire. I joked with my friend watching it with me that Sawyer whispered in Kate's ear that they should push Hugo out.
