Speaking on Hurley, how long has it been since they were all trapped on that island? Its hard to get a timeframe but im betting its someting in the 4+ weeks if not months.

So why has that fucker not lost any weight? Imean eating roots and fish + actually doing shit rather than sitting on his ass=losing weight right?

Cool little twist in the last episode was that bitch that they threw into the undrground cell with Jin, the black dude and Sawyer. She spews out that she was a part of flight 218. then Sawyer pulls out his gun telling them the next time the big black dude opens the cell hes getting a bullet, so she knocks Sawyer out and takes his gun and is pulled out buy the big black dude. And then its found out that she is with the "others".

How did she know about flight 218?

I later go to the official "lost" website and it says that she was a part of the origonal episode where she is seen in the airport.

Quite freaky.

Same like that Desmond dude....

And the number BS on that hatch and how those numbers were a huge part in Hurleys past.

Anna Lucia? Is her name?

She was in Season 1 and was in the bar at the airport having a drink with Jack before the flight. They briefly discussed his dad's death. I believe she was seated in the rear of the plane that broke off. I think you will find "the others" that tossed them into the pit are actually other plane crash survivors. With everything that has happened to the people from last season with the boar / whispers / monster / others, they would be damn cautious of newcomers as well.

At the start of Season2, I think Jack told Desmond that they have been there for 44 days or so. I personally think Hurley has lost some weight. Nothing serious, but damn.. the guy is an easy 350lb or so... 25lb off and you wouldnt notice much.

As for the numbers.. they are key.. they have been involved in everything. 4,8,15,16,23,42 = 108 (Number on the countdown sequence in the hatch). They are also found in many many places throughout the series, especially in the flashbacks.

Yeah now I remember, she had a drink with Jack a the airport bar. Thanks

But still it does not make sense as to why they would treat Jin, Mike, and Sawyer like that especially when Sawyer explained that he was on the plane, as were the others. If they were in fact part of the plane crash would they not be happy to find other people?

Why did they have the cage built in the first place? I dont think that it would be a priority when trying to survive on an island.

I guess im gonna have to buy the DvD set of the first season, there is so much shit that you miss if you dont pay attention, or just forget. Perfect example is that chick.

Yea, but you remember Ethan right? He was in the first set of people on the beach and said he was in the plane wreck, then later kidnapped Claire to godknowswhere and hung Charlie for dead up in a tree. Who's to say they didnt have similar problems?

You say digging a pit isnt productive? Hurley built a golf course ffs..lol! A pit to keep live boar / animals for food sounds like a good plan to me.

Again, this is purely speculation...

What other flashbacks are they in other than Hurley's?

Absolutely amazing show - first season was just top notch.

Second season so far... I'm a bit dissapointed in the answers they've given for the mythology that's been hyped up. Still very cool though. It reminds me a bit of what happened to Alias over the course of its series. Thankfully though, there's more than just JJ Abrams pulling the strings here. Now that they've answered some problems I hope it gets back on track.

Spoiler...

Phd canidates' master plan? Shrug. It seems like a dull answer to the mystery they had going. I suppose they had to answer it some how, just, bleh. They can do better than two doctral canidates plan for a research society with multiple labs on an isolated island. Hopefully it was a throw off or it went horribly wrong, otherwise just about every 'mystery' can be answered in the context of the rather lame orientation video on the 3rd episode of season 2.

Spoiler/Speculation - Don't bother reading if you're not up to date on the series, may ruin some shit.

Just a interesting picture for those who've followed the series. Don't want to go into details but the left set are the 'others' who kidnapped Walt, the right set are the PhD canidates who established the program. Same people? Would be neat if so - goes into the possibility the experiment went horribly wrong.

I believe almost every character has come in contact with the numbers now, Hurley is the only overt mentioning I can think of tho, other than the ones that have occured on the island.

Also, the guy living in the hatch, I must have missed or forgotten something, but where does Jack remember him from?

Best part of the show thus far is when Hurley is in the office building with his accountant and a jumper falls past the window. I did cry at that part.

I think that Hurley's episode would have to be my favorite thus far; that or the one where the teacher blows up.

It's been 40 or 44 days since they've crashed, Jack mentions that to Desmond in the hatch.

I'm thinking where they are on the island, these other survivors encountered the "others" and the beast in the jungle many more times than Jack/Locke's group. Thats why they have weapons ready in hand, and look more savage. They've grown to be more brutal over the 40 days I assume, without supplies from the front end of the plane, a doctor, hunter, guns, and a large group.

Did anyone catch the last scene of next weeks preview?! Cant wait for Jin to come out, I know he's got something big up his sleeve.

Some, if not most, are probably coincidential (like a car having a licence plate of a state that gets 15 inches of rain, what the fuck.), but I am sure a decent number are intentional.

If even half of those were planned out coming into the season, this series is definatly going to win as the greatest geeky fanboy show of all time.

I particularly like this one, it has just the right amount of obscurity mixed with trivia mixed with attention to detail

- There were Virgin Mary statues inside of the plane that Locke and Boone found. The Virgin Mary's Feast of Assumption is celebrated every year on August 15th (8/15) as a Catholic holiday. Rose is from the Bronx, New York. There is a church in the Bronx called Our Lady of Assumption. It is located on 1634 (16) Mahan Avenue and was founded in 1923 (23).

Man, you people depress me. Go for a jog or something. lozl

But seriously - the first season of Lost could quite possibly be, without question nor contradiction, and without condescending tone, the greatest first season of a drama/thriller hybrid, ever.

I remember in TV guide one time they interviewed some of the writers/producers from the show, and they asked about why Hurley wasn't losing any weight.

I think the answer was something along the lines of "it's all part of the magic of the island."

So in other words it's just something you have to suspend your disbelief for. I guess it would be too difficult to not only have the actor lose weight in the first place, but then to find some way to make him look big again so that they can still do flashbacks to before they crashed.

Besdies, now that he's found the food supply in the bunker he can eat normal food again.
