The smoke monster sure ended up being a pussy! The two episodes ago it sure looked like the smoke monster killed all of them, but like one guy had a hurt leg or something. ohh wow. And regarding Kate saying why she was on the phone had nothing to do with her relationship with Jack. Rule #1: If a girl is keeping a secret from you and says "it has nothing to do with you and I" she is lying.

| Well if you haven't noticed Ben doesn't like to kill anyone, even those hostile to him. I can't recount any instances of people under his influence actually killing anyone except his dad. It's far and away parties other than Ben's (such as the survivors) doing all the killing. It's consistent with his character.

| What about that he killed the whole island basically with the gas leak thing? And didn't he shoot Locke and leave him for dead?

| We didn't see him kill anyone with the gas besides his dad. It's hard to say if the "others" or whatever you want to call those people that never age were under Ben's command or not and well it's been awhile since I've seen that particular episode, so I might be wrong. However, Ben was already well-aware that the island has some preference for Locke and (I assume) didn't expect him to die. His own subordinate (I forget the guy's name but the one who randomly turned out to be gay) already stated that the Island decides when you die in one of Michael's flashbacks.

As far as the smoke monster goes... kinda sucks it didn't even kill 1 guy (4 + helicopter pilot was all they came over, right?). I don't think it was "programmed" not to kill them or anything, I imagine the writers just need those 4 characters later on but required some dues ex machina to get Ben and co out of that situation.

| lame episode, i really wish they'd kill off Kate and Jack so we don't have to keep seeing shitty j-pop slut romance. Although kate in her underwear is FUCKING HOT, what an ass!!!! moar of that! If you have the 720p download you can pause it at 6:20 and see Jack squeeze a bit of ass flesh, so jealous ![]() Oh, I agree the smoke monster didn't kill anyone, didn't Lawnmover man say a few episodes ago that the chopper can only handle 4 passengers? Or was it 6? Either way not sure how they gonna get O6 off, esp with Hurley (lol) whidmore is haunted by the ghosts of the Island, he makes references to bad dreams and drinking a lot in the previous episode. What I don't understand is why Jacob, Christian, or whoever is "haunting" Jack would drive him to drink and pop pills, seems like a real fucked up thing to do to someone. Apparently ghosts are pretty much like asshole frat brothers. Jack states he also saved Kate and implies the only reason he left the island was because he had to, to save her. Could play out in a million different ways, be interesting to see what they construct to kill off most/all of Whidmores people, rescue the O6, leave the rest of them behind, and make it plausible to the rest of the world. Have a decent timeline now at least - crash, rescue, normality for 1-2 years, ghost hauntings, return to island (next season), island conclusion (final season). Oh and fuck them for killing off Rosseau, one of the most interesting characters and we never got a flashback? looks like they want to bury that storyline (literally), too bad. +32 Internets | about smokie... it's been poven time and time again that you can evade smokie by hiding in a bush. I am guessing some of those soldiers managed to like, fall down ANYWHERE and somehow get behind a bush, thus rendering smokie offenseless.

| there were 5 mercs left. we saw smokie kill one when he dragged him away into the jungle. later we saw Keamy with another merc with a walkie talkie thingy and 2 other mercs were supporting an injured merc. so smokie got 1 and a half men at best. |

| So I watched it again and when Jin threatened Charlotte and says that he wants Sun on the next chopper out of there, just Son and not him, she looks away and gives the most evil smile. I noticed it the first time but the second watch through I studied it and there was no reason for her to smile there, she should have been terrified from the threat, instead she smiled like this was what she wanted to happen all along, it was all part of her plan or something. So I was thinking that since she knows Korean and was on Wittemore's boat it is quite possible that she works for or communicates with Sun's father, Mr. Paik. If that is the case I would wager that she has an objective to get Sun off the island safely and to also make sure that Jin never makes if off of the island. Watch it again and watch when Jin walks past her with the torch, the expression on her face is very devious.

| Isn't there a link between Sun's father and the island? Perhaps he is going to do the rescuing.
