| Zeke was the guy talking to Ethan in the flashback, about "he" won't be happy, whoever he is. Seeing Alex finally was cool. As far as Locke, I don't think he was mad at Jack as so much as he was mad that the prisoner was able to manipulate him by saying what he said, even for a second. Especially after what Sawyer did and we know what happened with Locke's father as well.

| I propose that they're all dead. The whole island. They're stuck in an afterlife belief system where they don't know that they're dead. Walt was taken because he was too young and hadn't been responsible for his being there. Now you might say, what about the baby? Well, the baby was born after the crash. Special circumstance? And what about the people who "died" on the island? I don't have that quite figured out yet. Some of them might have been people from the afterlife, some of them may have been real people who died from the plane crash..who "died" "for real" and moved on finally. My reasoning behind the afterlife scenario is because: Lock being able to walk again. The black lady "knowing" that her husband is still alive. Several people seeing Walt. The invisible monster. The black smoke thing. The polar bear. The guy from the stadium at night (the guy they found in the hatch) who has completely disappeared so far. |

Ahhhhh that makes a shitload of sense. So Zeke and Ethan and co. are just keeping up the facade of them being stranded on an island. Yeah now I'm really starting to believe the plane didn't really crash at all. Alex and the prisoner are the real wildcards here now. We saw Alex help Zeke grab Kate, but also help Claire escape. And with the prisoner, it's fairly clear he's not who he's saying is (as evident by the way he manipulated Locke and the sneer he gave at the end of the episode where the button almost went un-pressed). They need to hurry the fuck up though. This bullshit of a week (or more) between episodes is frustrating me. Edit: I think, Djaypally, that Echo was talking to the prisoner because he thinks (knows?) that the prisoner is one of Others, and wants to clear his sins/consicence by confessing to one of the comrades of the two people he killed. Echo was really tough to read though, because he had his pissed off about-to-go-apeshit-with-my-jesusstick look on his face, but instead did nothing. I really hope next episode they show Echo's motives, but knowing the producers, we'll find that out in 2009.

+12 Internets | Examining S2E01 Kelvin and his partner - According to the orientation video the bunker is supposed to be manned by two people. Assuming Kelvin is part of the Dharma Initiative and is supposed to be there (not a previous crash victim), what happened to Kelvin's original partner? How long was his partner gone? The food supply would be extended by 2x. Desmond - According to Desmond, Kelvin came running out to meet him on the beach as soon as his ship crashed. Kelvin must have been expecting someone to come and replace him around that time. Desmond is not part of the the Dharma Initiative (unless he's lying). This indicates that something went wrong with the project prior to his arrival. In the sense that Kelvin's partner was gone and no replacement was sent and no 2-pair was sent to replace Kelvin's pair. Also Desmond says that Kelvin came running to him from the bunker must suggest Kelvin was still phsyically fit, so how did Kelvin die? Certainly not from old age. Food consumption would have returned to normal as there were 2 again. But I don't recall if Desmond mentions how long he and Kelvin were together. How long and how much food was available? According to Hurley there was enough food left to feed 1 person for 3 months, but if it was supposed to be food for 2, then it's close to 1.5 months. Season 2 Episode 1 - The use of the song in the beginning shots and then at the end to scare Jack throws the viewer off, letting us assume no time has passed at all when infact a great amount of time has. Many other people have pointed this out due to the state the bunker is shown as being clean and positions of items when compared to the state it's in later. I noticed that Desmond's fingers are extremely dirty when he's holding Locke, when supposively he just got out of the shower earlier. I also noticed several inconsistencies during the explosion and previous shots. Here we have the magical bucket ![]() ![]() and here the record sleeve is missing ![]() ![]() Anyway, from the food situation, if everything had gone according to the original pairing plan, a new shipment of supplies should be arriving soon. Since planes have a tendency to crash land, I'm thinking it would arrive by boat. We know the others have a short range boat, so there must be a dock or port somewhere on the island. To comment on more recent events, I find it extremely odd that after all the air time given to Rose in season 1 and Bernard being alive, after they're reunited, we don't see jack shit from them afterwards. Hurley mentioning some trivial detail about Bernade may have significance later on. Last edited by Zarcath : 03-03-2006 at 05:22 PM. |

That's part of the whole 'doomsday theory' that the series takes place in the near future, the rest of the world is dead due to a reversal of the earth's magnetic field, and these people were selected for whatever reason to carry on and rebuild civilization. Pretty whacked out but its believable after you read through that one guy's entire theory. (the link was posted a page or two back). The problem with that is, you got people like Sawyer and Kate (criminals), who wouldn't logically fit into that pattern, and folks like hurley, Sun and Jin, and claire who seem to have no specialized skills whatsoever. In any case, this week's episode pretty much clarified that the Others weren't savages, but were scientists working toward some end or another and trying to decieve the survivors otherwise (or, at least, they were led by the scientists); they were concerned about some disease they were sure would wipe out everyone outside; and there is still plenty more on the island that has yet to be discovered -- while, of course, in true Lost fashion, creating dozens of new questions out of the not dozens of answers. And I cant' wait for Sayyid to get ahold of that guy that's locked in the hatch and give him another dose of pwning. Will have to wait another 2 weeks though, no Lost (and therefore, no Invasion booo) next week. ![]() | |

+12 Internets | Sun and Jin have no purpose? They're Hunter/Gatherers! Hurley...maybe he's for community, he's the only one that really "cares" about what the other people are doing and seems to "inform" the right people. Sawyer and Kate, dunno. Kate hasn't really done anything "bad" on the island. Maybe she's just there for procreation? Sawyer probably the community asshole. |
