| The VMA's Ok I like the VMA's when my blands play, and its seldom. I mostly just watch it out of pure bordom. But the past 2 years something has been very irratating. They always and I mean always take a 2 hour time slot to go over past VMA's and they have the same people of the same movie clips from previous years, I dont like it but Ill live with it. Whats more annoying is they have their producer,Directors etc on there saying how it was the best award show and everyone worked hard and how their the best. I've never seen grammy's or Emmys' directors or producers come on a show once and say how hard they worked to put on a good show or how they claim its a good show, obviously they did a fucking good job that nothing fucked up and everyone kept their job. I just really hate how conceited MTV is getting.

| Yet, you continue to watch it. Don't worry, I can't help myself sometimes as well.

| OMG MTV sucks cause their producers and directors are proud of their work! They are conceited because they think they do a good job. MTV is lame for marketing their big, multi-million dollar award show production! MTV sucks for a lot of reasons...but you're reaching a little too far here. Award shows suck by definition, but MTV has succeeded in making the "best" one. If they're conceited, they have a right to be. |

| Well, hopefully chris rock is indeed actually still funny. MTV pretty much killed him for my by showing his 2 appearances at the vma's over and over again, acting like he is the funniest man alive. I'll watch most of it, and just skip all of the performances except coldplay and metallica. And maybe christina aguilera muted. The show itself is usually pretty entertaining if you skip the right parts. |

| Chris Rock > all. Best joke of the night, right when Good Charlotte stopped playing and he went "A mediocre Green Day at best" So, so true.

| Any magic that the VMAs once had was thrown out the window. Last night's "show" wasn't even worth talking about. When you take a "live" show, cut it up into 5 minute chunks, script out every second of each 5 minutes, mix in 15 minutes of commercials after each 5 minute chunk, show the same 10 celebrities over and over and over and over and over and over (how often do we need to see Eminem, Justin, and 50cent, not to mention Timbaland walking up on stage and standing behind the winner for every award)... Chris Rock was funny...a couple times. The rest of the time you could tell he didn't rehearse his jokes enough. His timing and delivery were horrible...but it was in line with everyone else's performances. The problem with scripting every second of a live awards show like VMAs is that no one can spend enough time rehearsing and practicing their material to make it work. You NEED to mix in some improv...some room for performers to perform. You could actually hear the MTV producers in everyone's ear, telling them that their was only 20 seconds left to get the last 1 minute of jokes out. Metallica confirmed it at the end of the show when they were interviewed about their little medley: "We had a lot of songs we wanted to play, but had to whittle it down to 90 seconds" 90 fucking seconds for a "20 years of MTV music" medley by Metallica?!? That's fucking horrible. Why even do it if you're only giving 90 seconds? Worst awards show ever. Fuck you MTV. |

| Glad to see i wasn't the only one who thought the VMA's were a total piece of shit. I hate popular music, but i do enjoy watching the MTV award shows. They are usually pretty funny and more exciting than the Oscars, AMA's and the like. However, last night was complete garbage. Everyone was just reading thier lines and the show had absolutely no heart. It was like a zombie show. Nothing exciting happened. The Madonna, Briteny, Christina thing wasn't anything amazing. Hey, 2 women kissed!!! OMG i haven't seen that in 5 minutes. Briteny is trying so hard to break her good girl image. I guess people want her to be taken as a serious artist. lol The only person who's was remotely funny or exciting was Jack Black making fun of Michael Jackson's mistake in thinking he won the Millenium award a few years ago. Jack Black is usually funny anyhow. I don't like Chris Rock. He says something funny once in a while and he said maybe one funny thing (the pot shot at Good Charlotte calling them a mediocre Green Day, i hate GC ) , but the rest of the time he was screwing up jokes and just un-funny.Metallica - dear lord make them stop. They played a montage of MTV hits (Lenny Kravitz, White Stripes, Michael Jackson, Nirvana), Then they played Frantic as the credits were rolling. Why the hell would metallica do a montage of popular hits from MTV?? oh i know, THEY ARE THE BIGGEST SELL OUTS OF ALL TIME! Alot of people talk about Beyonce. Yeah she's hot and her performance was decent, but what was up with her singing and the words not matching up? lol I know most people lip synch live because all the dancing makes you winded, but that out of synch singing was getting on my nerves. Overall, this had to be the worst VMA's i have seen in a long while. Boring, not funny and nothing that remotely stood out. Of course MTV were praising themselves calling it the best show yet. Did they even watch the same show? |

| I thought the R-kelly olson twins joke was pretty damn funny, although I didn't really like anyone who performed that night.. I think the only performance I watched alot was the 50 cent one, but he kind of let me down in that I expected him to do another song... Like Many Men. That song owns.. Someone told me he was going to perform it so I was waiting for him to come on, but it was a letdown not to see that song performed, or any others for that matter. |
