What's the biggest thing you hate about music/industry/people who like music...

I fucking hate the people who think Bob Marley is the best musical genius ever, but can't name a song.

I can't stand the Genre wars. If there's something I don't like, I simply don't listen to it. Right now its popular to assume because you don't like something it automatically sucks even though said band still manages to sell albums and go on tours.

Bling Bling Hoez & Moneyz Rap. Now, I dont listen to much rap, but I dont mind Tupac, Mob Deep etc.. But this shit makes me want to stick a screwdriver into my ears.

New rap. If i never hear another new rap song again, it wouldn't be soon enough. Seriously, if i don't hear Bling Bling, playa, pimp or anything ending in -izzle again, it would be a great day. Old rap is fine. It was different and sorta meant something, but this new shit is worthless.

New punk. Wtf is up with this new punk music that is breaking in? It sucks. Good Charolette. Wtf is thier deal? Hi, we look like a bunch of wannabe hardcore gangstas, but we sing like girls and talk about school, mommy and daddy and drinking wine coolers. Please, just go away and quit being so fake. I can see right through them. Just get rid of all of it.

American Idol. Really, who likes these people. Where are thier careers? The only one i've seen is the Kelly Clarkson or whatever her name is, but how did that movie go? huh? what's that? That's right, is sucked, along with your talent. Please, quit trying to find (or make) the next best thing. You can't make people good. Forcing them down our throats isn't gonna make us like them any more.

I could go on, but why bother? music industry is so fucked up right now it's just a plane crash waiting to happen.

Some rap groups that are releasing new stuff that have been out awhile, but its just a pitfall that most of them release the typical bling bling song... I just think its a preference thing... I also think the people who would like those types of songs wouldn't visit a message board like this. The music is often shallow and not thought provoking, but I think half the time thats the point.

I'm not going to vouch for dumbasses that are part of Pdiddy remix 10023 complete with car on dubs and some bitch shaking her ass, but I'm not going to say that there aren't any rappers in the genre with talent, because thats a pretty ignorant statement.

I sit here and realize I can't really put it into words why this aggravates me. It just does, immensley (sp).

I mean, it's a decent tune, I'm not hatin on it, but the best song ever? Have you people ever listened to anything but the radio in your entire life? EVER?

I dunno, like I said, I can't really describe why this irks me so much. But when people say it, I can't help but feel sorry for them. I guess I just know that when some one says Stairway is their favorite song that they only say that out of ignorance. And ignorance is sad.

Oh, and I'll also second the people who said "Bling Bling Mah Niggizzles Tap Dat Azz Yo MTV Raps!" type music. Ugh.

That reminds me. Anyone on earth who uses the phrase "Tap that ass" is a queer. It's true, look it up.

New artists that get rich on some remixed version of an old and in most cases decent song. Happens so often now

Edit: This came out wrong i think. It would be fine if they had SOME decent material for them selves, but many dont. Thats what annoys me.

It seems like a lot of groups (specifically hip-hop) have gotten lazier and lazier in doing remixes.... It's like, they'll add one set of vocals and maybe a slightly different variation in beat... But thats it, its like, wtf, what was the point?

I've heard some EXCELLECT remixes in my time, and imo a good remix is when someone can take a song and completely redo it while keeping a part of the song similar, ensuring that the part you liked the song in the first place is still there in some capacity... Those are the really cool remixes, but the really good quality ones are rarer and rarer these days it seems.

The thing that bothers me the most is how todays music is 99% marketing, and about 1% music. Seeing all these retarded pop trends go in and out everyday is mind blowing to me. It was the most hilarious and most disturbing thing to me when I heard about those two so called 'lesbian' pop stars who actually got their 15 minutes and wasting airtime . Guess what people? If I wanted to see some girls making out I'd go buy some porn and support some crackwhore's drug addiction over supporting shitty music. The way image and target audience marketing play into music today just piss me off, but hey, that's the machine.

My biggest pet peeve is people thinking that their music and the way music works NOW is different from the music and the way music worked THEN. It's always been mostly marketing, people have always run cash cow genres into the ground...

The only difference today is that non-mainstream music gets a lot more attention then they used to, teaching morons that there is something else out there, causing the morons to flock to message boards and show how learned they are in the ways of music and how stupid everyone else is.

I guess my biggest pet peeve is WIGGERS! Not a day goes by I see a white kid dressed up all wannabe Thug. I want to smack the shit out of them. Most of the styles look good on African Americans, See these punk ass kids wearing their hats side ways or wearing their moms overalls on their head telling me how life is so hard living up on the hill. I believe the rap industry is responcible for that! Im the only non wigger in my town its starting too look like.

I am going to say that MTV is probably the thing I hate most about the music industry. Yea, I know its not directly related (well sort of hmm) but it is the reason that the "machine" of image is so fucking powerful these days. All these boy/girl bands , shitty rappers and wanna be punk rock kids have no talent, but all they do is write a catchy fucking hook, shake their ass and show some abs and woohoo we have an instant winner folks. "Someone call Carson Daly, we have to put these fuckers on TRL" !! ChaChing$$
