+7 Internets | Warped Tour, with Brand New and Yellowcard! It's here in two days. This is kind of a combo thread, for the Warped Tour and my thoughts on both Brand New and Yellowcard's new albums. As far as "Deja Entendu," the latest from Brand New, goes, all I can say is WOW. While their first record, "Your Favorite Weapon", was catchy as hell and a lot of fun, "Deja Entendu" is amazing. They rock out, they have emotional acoustic songs, and great lyrics. It's really one of those cd's that gets stuck in your head for days after you listen to it. Highlights include "Me vs. Maradona vs. Elvis," "The Quiet Things that No One Ever Knows," and "Jaws Theme Swimming" (For me at least. I love all the songs, though). Yellowcard's "Ocean Avenue" comes out Tuesday, although it's been leaked for about a month. Good stuff. Similar vein to their first release, "One For the Kids," but the new album certainly rocks a bit harder. "Breathing," "Way Away," and "Life of a Salesman" are great, great pop-punk songs. They also slow it down a bit with "Something of Value" or "Rough Draft" esque "Empty Apartment." Can't get enough of that song. "Back Home" is also a great song. Anyway, will post a review of the tour as a whole on Thursday - also plan to see The Ataris, AFI (maybe), The Used, probably get dragged to Thrice.. |

| I have to agree with you, the new Brand New album is quite amazing! From the music to lyrics and just plain attitude the album is very close to perfect IMO. I just saw them live out here in AZ about 3 days ago and I was very impressed with their live show as well. What do you mean you might get dragged to Thrice? Thrice is amazing! Their last album is one of the best I have ever heard! If you didnt like it try it one more time, very talented individuals! Very good live to! hehe Hope you have fun at the warped tour! If Vendetta Red is playing out in your areas warped tour, stop by and watch them if you can, very impressive live show even if your not to much of a fan. Not many bands out there that get into their music like these guys do. Peace

+7 Internets | Saw Vend Red, they were good. Brand new was fucking incredible. My friend got to play San Dimas onstage with the Ataris and keep the head of the guitar Kris (Ataris lead singer) smashed. It was a good day~ |

| I wasnt too interested in this years warped tour line up. I saw that face to face was playing, which is cool. The only other band i really wanted to see was me first and the gimmie gimmies, but of course they didnt play in Minneaplois. No bad religion this year either =\ As far as Yellowcard goes.. ugh. Ive seen em live twice, once with nufan last year, and a few months ago with lagwagon. Thats enough for me, a little too pop-like for my tastes. It seemed like all the people who are really into punk would show up to see Lagwagon, then theres hundreds screeming 15 year old girls everywhere wearing yellowcard shirts - made for a kind of akward show =) I look forward to reading your review, hopefully it was a good show this year. |

| Last year was better imo, but this year was pretty decent with bands like From Autumn To Ashes, Glassjaw, AFI, Rancid, etc... The suicide machines have to be the craziest fuckers there though, they did a mini Braveheart thing where the crowd split then crashed into each other...but then after that I went over to the 2nd main stage to get a good spot for the next band. And they had everyone on their stage form a huge line and run at us ala Braveheart, which is about 1/10th the amount of people. I was standing in the front and when those thousand people are charging at you, it's fucking scary hah. But I just put up my forearms and laid into them, it was a good time. Our gang of friends only missed 1 band this year though due to my going to get stitches, last year we missed a few due to 2 girls with us getting knocked unconcious and I stayed at the hospital with them until about 6 AM... So we did better. 1/2 the injuries! Stretchers are fun! So overall great time. BTW, were the bands aloud to cuss for you all? All they kept talking about is getting arrested if they were caught cussing in St. Pete, FL. ![]()

| I went this year when it was in St. Louis, and I had a blast. Suicide Machines were kickass, and the Andrew W.K. crowd was fun as shit, as was the Dropkick Murphy's crowd (to be expected).
