KoRn - Did My Time

Sure there's plenty of KoRn haters out there, but was curious (anyway) what people's thoughts were on the new single.

Strange how they are gunna use it to promote Tomb Raider, and have it in the movie, but leave it off the soundtrack and only for their new album (which apparently should be coming out after OzzFest wraps up).

I used to be a huge KoRn fan, havn't heard the new single, but if it's anything like there last album KoRn has really begun to suck.

Plus John Davis needs to lose some fucking weight 8P

heh, yeah, dude is getting fat and bald. It's like David Lee Roth, except 20 years earlier and with black nail polish.

I thought their last albums were okay, but not great. But I don't think there is much they can do about it. There isn't much room for them to expand or change their music, really, so it's just a matter of time until it gets totally played out. Clickety bass and screaming did carry them pretty far though

Even as a fan, I can't justify Untouchables. It wasn't a horrible album, but it was definately overproduced (the producer, whom I can't recall his name atm, is notorious for this), and ended up really sounding like one song running through. There were some okay songs, but it just wasn't that good.

You can tell the difference on the new single though, really. If you liked their older stuff, it seems they're going back to that a bit... except Jon might actually be singing! =O Anyway, they're self-producing this next album, so this is the one that is going to really determine their longevity (imo).

The biggest problem with Korn is that they can't do anything other than the signature "korn" sound. Jonathan Davis really doesn't sing very well, so they can't go softer or acoustic to mix things up (like Staind, for instance). So, as they get older, fatter, and balder (is that a word?), the hard act starts to look a bit silly.

Korn is one of those bands that just gets worse as they go.

Do they suck? No. I personally like most of their stuff, not all, but most.

But what they do do is get slightly worse with every album.

Their first one was arguably revolutionary. It was/is simply one of THE best metal albums of the 90's, period. And although I don't h8 Korn, I also no longer much care about them. I have much love for them but just can't get into their newer stuff.

I feel about Korn the same way I feel about Metallica. I will always respect them, but it doesn't mean that they are infallible. All good things come to an end. *shrug*

I think they should title their next album, Korn: Older, Fatter, and Balder.

Jebus, Disturbed is the worst fucking live band I've ever seen. I went to the Pop sux tour with Trust Company/Disturbed/KoRn.
Trust Company blew Disturbed out the water and KoRn is just fucking awsome live. But I do agree, each album they go just gets worse and worse like Metallica, but they are still good. And the new single is good.

I don't agree with that, other than Untouchables all there albums were solid, the first one will alwaysd be rememberd because it was new and fresh.

However I think there best album is Follow the Leader, just because it was when KoRn's was writing there best stuff.

Very appropriate tour moniker cause they are all pop and they all sux IMHO. Disturbed is a reincarnation of an 80's hair band. Trust Company's vocalist sounds the guy from EMF who did that song "You're Unbelievable". Everytime I hear one of their songs I think the next line is gonna be "You're Unbelievabaaaaal" in a slightly gay British accent. Anyone who puts the lyrics "shutup when I'm talking to you" in their song clearly needs to be slapped and sterilized.

Very true. That album simply rocked and was very original at the time. Life is Peachy was OK. Everything since has just been kind of boring. A bunch of forgettable riffs with lyrics about his "problems". /yawn. Korn doesn't suck now they are just rather mediocre.

Korns new stuff is at least somewhat listenable. Load/Reload/St. Anger suck so bad I wouldn't even dl them off kazaa. And their shit with the orchestra was just ridiculous.

That's Linkin Park, not Trust Company. Trust Company has a pretty solid CD, and was quite good the one time I've seen them live.
