| Going by drum work on albums alone, I'd have to say Abbruzzese. Vs. is heads and tails above the other albums in that regard. Also, despite seeing lyric/music credits always going to Gossard, Ament and Vedder, the drummer has a hand in crafting every song on an album. PJ just made better music with Abbruzzese laying down the beat. They were more experimental and diverse with Irons, but I'll still have to give the nod to Abbruzzese. Going by live performances I can only compare Irons and Cameron. I've been to 5 PJ concerts...3 with Irons, 2 with Cameron. I'd have to put Cameron above Irons. Maybe I caught Matt on 2 good days and Jack on 3 bad days, but PJ w/ Cameron put on a better show than with Irons. BTW...Ten is still the best album they put together, but it wasn't because of their drummer. Krusen was lame. |
