My new favorite song...

Requiem for the Rings is my new favorite song. You may recall I'm the jackass who posted "Requiem for...a hobbit?" because I noticed that LotR 'stole' Requiem for a Dream's music. Well they didn't steal it, they did an awesome job redoing it, and I love this song now.

Nice one, Although as far as LOTR Related songs go, Gollum's song currently just barely nudges it out for me.

Heck, I'm starting to feel sorry for the little bugger. DAMN YOU, ONE RING >_<

Gollum is a very tragic character. I never lauged at him in the movie, even in his most funny moments, just because I felt so much pity for him.

I actually feel very simliar to this.. Although some parts got me. When he was arguing with himself, and he goes "You dont have any friends!" that made me give out a laugh.. But yeah, I feel the same, a lot of it people in the theater laughed, but I didnt, and even one part I thuoght to myself "you ignorant idiots dont even understand this."

Yes Smeegul/Gollum is a very tragic character, but the convo he has with himself is funny for a few lines:

"You don't have any friends!"
"I'm not listening!"
"You're a murderer!"
"No!"

lol the way he said no made me crack up, but yes he is one to be pitied

I gotta admit, I did giggle at some parts of Smeagol's dialogue, but at the same time, It's one of those weird feelings where you know that Smeagol is doomed, and it's like "No, Damnit, it's not fair!"

I'm gonna go write a story where Smeagol goes to heaven or sumpin.

how could you not laugh at gollum arguing with himself

how can you feel sorry for a CGI character, that is in a movie, from a book, that you have read, and you know what happens to him?

What's the point of reading a book or watching a movie if you're not feeling Sorrow or Joy in the parts where those emotions would seem natural to feel if it were really happening?

to amuse yourself

we could use what you just said in the whole arguement of violence in movies/books/games/etc and stuff

it's not real

and I also show no pity for real life human beings and feel nothing watching the news, so maybe it is just me

I couldn't help giggling whenever Gollum called Sam "the fat one". That's just awesome.

I haven't yet indulged the new LoTR, is it more classical based? or is the orchestration from the movie absent in favor of using a more vocal based, pop selling approach(although that is not to say that it would be "poppy" just more structured and easy to digest.)

Don't get me wrong, Gollum had some very funny scenes, particularly the argument with Sam over cooking. I just felt too many people found certain parts funny where it was meant to be serious.

Totally agree with you there, people were laughing nearly every time Gollum spoke.
