+20 Internets | The Mars Volta - Tour My god I got back from this show a few hours ago, the best band I've ever seen live for sure. Even with the shitty fans that were direspecting the band by throwing shit on stage at one point, the concert was still so amazing. I loved every second of it and I highly suggest you all go to the show when it comes near you. I'm sure there will be plenty of scalpers (there were in houston) if you didn't get them on time.

+20 Internets | Nice try on the derail. I won't defend why my music taste is better than yours though, sorry. Back on topic. Man now it's sunk in (and I'm still def in my left ear). The energy was just so crazy, Omar and Cedric have such amazing stage presence~. Eomer: http://themarsvolta.com/frances.html has a full list. May 12 Montreal, Quebec Canada Metropolis May 13 Toronto, Ontario Canada Kool Haus edit: this reviewer has amazing credibility too btw. "Why couldn’t I buy the new Mike Jones album and listen to that instead?"

| Well, to be perfectly honest, I have heard amazing things about Mike Jones. Not only is he using a Korg Triton and an MPC 2000 to make beats, but the samples he uses are astonishingly clear (one could only guess that they're in the 180-230k range). On top of that, I've heard that he gives an awesome live performance. When he comes out on stage and does backflips, plays the guitar backwards, and drums like the next Neil Peart one can only wonder why the entire population of the world doesn't own the new Mike Jones cd. It's kinda funny how the guys who have real talent can get overshadowed by these stupid primadonnas with hyphenated last names. Fuck the Mars Volta and their sonic meandering. |

+27 Internets | lol personally I thought the Something Awful thing was hilarious, and in some very small way I agree with a little bit of it. Between Frances the Mute and Deloused, I WAY prefer Deloused because Frances is just too far out there for me in a lot of cases. Maybe I haven't listened to it enough yet, but I've had a hard time getting into it. Deloused I can flip on a song or two for a few minutes and get something out of it. Frances I have to sit down and listen for half an hour. On another note, nice of them to tour Canada so extensively! I only have to drive for 30 hours straight to get to Toronto! |

+11 Internets | I'm going Friday to the Atlanta show, assuming Ticketmaster doesn't engage in wanton asshattery and refuse to replace my tickets. They lost them in the mail. Yeah. The mail. Turns out, Ticketmaster disavows all responsibility if the tickets don't arrive, and can choose not to replace them even if you give proof of your purchase and identification. It's fucked up. I'm assured by the manager though that there will be no problem upon my arrival. Sigh Heylel |

| Look - to all of you asshats with no musical talent/understanding whatsoever, realize that TMV is a great band on several merits. If the music is beyond you, it's not surprising. "When the great and genial masses come to understand something, it is time for that something to evolve." - Balthazar Fuck you.

But yeah, I'd love to see the guys. Bad news is, they aren't coming anywhere near florida on their headlining tour. The good news is, they're going to go on tour with System of a Down this summer. That will be excellent. Last edited by DiscW : 04-28-2005 at 03:19 AM.

+27 Internets | Chill out Amadeus, not a single person in this thread has slagged on TMV really. Ashes posted a link to a review with no commentary, and I commented that a lot of the article was pretty funny and that in a few small ways I agree. That's not to say I don't like or appreciate them, I do, I bought both albums within a week or two of downloading them from Ham. Sorry if we offended your fave band in the world! |

That's some good shit. The sheer pretentiousness would make even a Radiohead fan giggle.
