| Good Trance? Looking for some good trance and/or some of the more chill techno or house stuff. I've got a 9 hour road trip ahead of me and having something spacey with a decent beat playing makes the time fly without putting me to sleep. Any good suggestions? Right now I'm hooked on a select few songs from Bassnectar, which although I wouldn't necessarily classify them solely as a trance group, the songs I can't stop playing are definitely in the trance vein. Really just anything that flows well and has a decent groove. Hell, even anything close to the song Inside My Mind (Blue Skies) by Groove Armada would do. Appreciate any suggestions in advance. Oh yeah, inb4 trance is for fags. and ibtr just in case. |

+12 Internets | MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service A mix by a DJ I know from from Montreal.. I find the vocals towards the beginning a little out of place, but the rest is good http://isohunt.com/download/11198673...ential.torrent and Deadmau5 in Ibiza, for good measure

| Paul Oakenfold's "Tranceport" if you don't already have it. One of my all-time favorite trance CD's. There are some versions that have the songs play right into each other with no pause between tracks, it flows really well together so it sounds great.

| If you like that kind of Groove Armada stuff, try looking at some of BT's (Brian Transeau, stagename is just BT though) older work, like ESCM and Ima. Going by your description, I think you're more into the melodic/good vocal corner than anything else, so for a long trip I'd check out compilation series like Anjunabeats by Above & Beyond and Nightmusic by The Thrillseekers, both of which I think are very well done. You could also download a bunch of 'A State of Trance' webradio shows by Armin van Buuren. Although there is usually a lot of rubbish among those, it's just fine for listening to on trips. If you want to go DJ/Producer specific, there is a long list of stuff you could check out, but for most of that it would come down to downloading sets or vinyls and generally be a lot of work, if you were able to find them in the first place. But if you want to I could list names. Also, what's with the IBTR anyway? This thread isn't any more crappy than the ones about any other kind of music that pass through here. |

Good recs btw. Especially liked the Oakenfold... I had a bunch of his stuff on my laptop and desktop but they both got wtfpwned so i lost most of my music. I'm definitely gonna be rockin' out as greenman to some of this stuff.

Wrathcaster, Your request for "good trance" is way too broad to actually provide you with anything useful. Do you want dutch trance? psy trance? arena trance? tech trance? There's literally a gajillion of flavors. If you want music for a 9 hour drive - I suggest downloading some stuff by Desyn Masiello, Danny Howells, Matthew Dekay - these guys usually do longer sets (3-6 hours) and go between a wide mix of chill music, funk groove, and harder banging stuff. It's not trance though, it generally oscillates between prog house, house, a bit of techno and funk. A 2006 Masiello mix from Budapest is still my gold standard for my 2-4 hour bike rides. MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service If you want something more bleepier and bloopier with some melodic elements - try Joris Voorn. There's a good reason he has become prominent in the past 2-3 years. He is quite good. If you just want more loungey, thoughtful, "grown up" electronic music then definitely look into Deep House. Miguel Migs, Mark Farina's Mushroom Jazz and other productions and live sets, Kaskade, Ben Watt, Colette, Ian Pooley, Roger Sanchez, etc. I find Deep House to be the best for long drives. Here's some links where you can look for live sets. http://www.newmixes.com/ AudioBeats.net - Livesets, Mixtapes and Tracklists Welcome - SoundCloud Last edited by Araysar; 10-27-2009 at 11:56 PM..

| I linked this yesterday, it's pretty good. I'm not sure what the qualification of trance/house/techno/whatever is, but this one is labelled as trance on the website so it must be trance: cPanelŽ

| A Bearded Gnome | Tiesto - Magik, Vol 3 Track 3 on it is my favorite. I don't really care too much of his other shit, but I dig the shit out of Magik 3.

| They're playing in Nashville sometime this month. Fucking awesome. BTW saw Crystal Method on Halloween. Maybe more techno or whatever than trance... All the classifications get confusing. Anyway, show was awesome... In a venue that had max capacity of maybe 300 people... Tiny club. So loud I'm still partially deaf. Anyway, they did some badass remixes/covers of some awesome rock songs. Did a few Led Zeppelin, I think I heard White Rabbit... And they ended with Knights of Cydonia from Muse. Blew my fucking mind... Even made me forget for a minute that some bastard stole my greenman costume. |

| When I wanna listen to some random trance, I just download an episode of A State of Trance and start listening. Armin van Buuren is the host and he usually puts together a nice mix.' A State Of Trance Here's an awesome mix by Deadmau5. Last edited by darkseid; 11-06-2009 at 02:23 PM.. |
