Todd Snider - The Excitement Plan

Several months old but I couldn't find a thread on him.

Todd Snider is pretty awesome. I first found out about him when he opened for Yonder Mountain like 5 years ago. But, before this album his stuff has been pretty inconsistent IMO, with a lot of annoying shit between his good songs. With this album he really gets his shit together, with some funny songs ("America's Favorite Pastime" is about Dock Ellis), and some serious songs ("Corpus Christi Bay" written by Robert Earl Keen is pretty awesome). Duet with Loretty Lynn is unexpected.

He's hippy music. Kinda Arlo Guthrie-ish. If that's your thing, I recommend you check him out.
