6 Internets | Owl City - Ocean Eyes I'm never really up to date on music and I found Owl City through 4chan of all places. I didn't see any threads on it, so I thought I'd increase awareness. The cd came out a few months ago and it's pretty good. Very upbeat electro-pop a la The Postal Service. Here's the single Fireflies |

31 Internets | Yeah, fuck this band. I heard this song in the background of my co-workers radio and thought to myself, "This sounds like Death Cab for Cutie." The next time I heard it I thought to myself, "This Death Cab for Cutie song is fucking awful." The next time I heard it I thought to myself, "You know what? This is way to fucking awful to actually be Death Cab for Cutie." Now I describe Owl City as "Death Cab for Cutie if they sucked ass" and pretty much everyone I've mentioned it to knows I'm talking about the band that made Fireflies. |

58 Internets | I'm with the OP...sounds more like Postal Service than Death Cab. I feel like Ben Gibbard should punch this guy though. I haven't heard the album though so I'll reserve judgement for now |

69 Internets | I had someone show me this band, saying it sounded just like postal service. It does. It's like the dude is doing an impression of the singing from Postal. It's like postal service, but more "pop" sounding. I only heard 1 song, so I can't really say if the album is good/bad, but WOW it's like an upbeat clone of PS.

5 Internets | The guy is from my area and I've had the chance to see him live a time or two before he "hit it big" so to speak. I always enjoyed his stuff.

11 Internets | Pandora plays me these guys pretty often. They're alright, definitely a PS knockoff but since PS's catalog is limited I'll take it. Very hit-or-miss though.

5 Internets | I think it's kinda cool how he got his start, couldn't sleep one night so he started messing around with his computer, made a couple songs, posted them on myspace and shit hit the fan basically. Kinda neat how shit can just kinda take off like that.
