Devin Townsend - Addicted

I've been following the development of this one for months now, and absolutely can't wait for its release on Nov 17. This is the second album of four which are supposed to all sort of be connected and have an overarching story. This one is what he calls his most 'poppy,' with being easy on the ears and keeps to having catchy choruses. Many of the songs feature Anneke van Giersbergen on vocals, and from what I've heard, she sounds amazing.

He just released a 6 minute teaser of the album last night which can be found on his myspace page. This guy is by far my favorite music artist and I just cannot wait to pick this one up.

Yup, Ki was the first of four albums. He's already working on the 3rd, called Deconstruction, which he claims will be his heaviest album yet.

Love Devin. He's been my favorite musician since about 2001 when I found out about him. Thanks for the heads up!

Hah just realized he's got a cover of his own song, Hyperdrive from Ziltoid on that teaser. Some chick singing. That's one of my favorite songs of his, and my favorite off the Ziltoid album for sure.

When did Devin cut his hair? I didn't even recognize him. His skullet was pretty awesome.

Well the leak is out on this one... I already preordered a while ago so no guilt for me checking this one out. It's pretty much as epic as I was expecting. Time will tell if this passes Terria as my fav devin townsend record, but overall it is just solid. Supercrush!, Numbered!, and Resolve! are standouts for me, but jesus it's all pretty amazing.

I really enjoy this album so far, possibly his best work so far in my humble opinion... cant wait to hear some samples from Deconstruction.

The 4th is supposed to be... He's said he may not even have drums on that one. Next one coming out will be his heaviest.

Most of the CD is up on Youtube now. Just search for Devin Townsend and set it to bring up the newest first. I'm really digging the song "Numbered". The production quality and female singer in it are awesome.

It's between that and Supercrush for which is my fav.

I had really high hopes for Resolve, and it's still really good, but he purposefully over-simplified it I think, which was his goal for most of the album. Really, it could have just used another verse, and it would have been the best for me. Still good though =P

Finally got around to listening to this album and I have to say it's my favourite thing he's done since he has gone solo. Highly recommended for the SYL fans too.

Can't wait to hear Deconstruction.
