Seriously, listen to Certain Shade of Green, then Pardon Me, then Wish You Were Here, then Aqueous Transmissions, and tell me all their songs sound alike.

As for me - The Strokes.

They did good things for music, but i can't stand their music, their style, and i hate the lead singer with a passion. Why the fuck is he so cocky and arrogant? I mean, a guy should be happy to do interviews to make is fans (i.e. the people that pay him) happy.

I've been told on numerous occaisions to listen to all of Incubus' songs, and while they may not ALL sound the same... the ones that make it to the radio do and the rest sound like vanilla filler to go around those set pieces.

Then again, I haven't heard a couple of those that you suggested, so I will give them a shot.

I guess I meant something along these lines:

Wish You Were Here = Nice to Know You = Warning

I'm not their target audience I suppose.

on another note, I like to hear it when all the people who hear "Bother" by Stone Sour go out and buy the album... then realize what the rest of their songs are like. Classic. It's like people buying Green Day because of "Good Riddance".

[did I spell "occaision" correctly? it just looks wrong spelled that way...]

College Bands....

Any of those Frat boy bands just really really annoy the crap outta me....

You know the ones....jesus...turn em off....the songs are ridiculous. What i think is hillarious is how the frat boys think they are so "deep". I cant even think of the names of em, because i try not to pay much attention to them, but Deep blue something comes to mind as an example....Ughhh....utter crap!

oh ya...and the new teenage Angst music is toilet as well...

I agree that the more recent Incubus stuff is not the greatest, and it's a shame. Go out and listen to Enjoy Incubus, The Fungus Amongus, or SCIENCE. They all wicked albums/EP's. Unfortunately they succumbed to the temptation of radioplay and TRL!

And if you think that all Linkin Park songs are angst filled and/or sound the same, then it's obvious you are writing a band off just from what you have heard from your friends or on the radio. Give their albums a listen, especially Reanimated. Musically it is incredibly diverse, and lyrically yea sure they have a lot of angst songs, but so does virtually every other band that has picked up a guitar in the past 10 years. They are few and far between. Why is it such a fucking sin now?

And yea, Defensivepractice you say it's opinion, but it's opinion based upon ignorance.

Kid Rock

I really dont like Kid Rock. I sorta liked that alphabet song but he totally ruined it by making the wana be country songs that somehow make it to the rock stations

I turn the station so quick when i hear Cowboy, or whatever its called, come on. lol

Wait a second. If it's popular to hate mainstream stuff, shouldn't all the rebelious nonconformers be listening to this crap? =/

Which is why I don't post much. :P

/em adds votes against Creed, Kid Rock, Michelle Branch, and RHCP (OMG, I heard Scar Tissue every 10 minutes... when it first came out)

I'd pay money to see someone's face when the first few seconds of "Get Inside" (track 1) start, if they bought the CD solely due to "Bother."

My personal pet peeve: Any of the bands following the "The xxx" format. The Hives, The Strokes, The White Stripes, etc. I don't remember what it was, but there was an MTV award show on recently where two of these bands played (no idea which ones), and I swear I thought it was the same band in different outfits.

Also Creed - if I have to watch Scott Stapp strike a Jesus-pose and put that tortured, "I look like I'm squeezing a basketball out my ass" look on his face anymore, I'm going to puke.

Icubus started sucking after Science. When the lead singer went from a dreadlocked, bearded burnout to the current MTV poster child, they turned to crap. There is no comparison between stuff like "Certain Shade of Green/Calgone/Redefine" and "Wish you were here/Nice to know you." The latter almost seems like it was tailor-made for TRL.

wow, sorry I didn't like your band... obviously I am a moron, I bow to your superior music knowledge

just messing... might want to come off a bit less caustic, though, if you are really interested in showing people that a group at some point was original

Disturbed, first album was OK, few decent songs. So I bought their new one I think its called Prayer or something and it blows so hard. The songs all kind of sound the same, there is no like definitive beat to them, it really does sound like simply thrashing on a guitar.

Kid Rock, shave the peach fuzz and take a bath you and your music stink.

I kind of like the new disturbed album. No, not as good as the first, but it's still pretty good. I think it got overproduced though, it kind of sounds too "clean" or something, not sure how to describe it.

And Defensivepractice, sorry if I came off as caustic or offensive. I don't mean that you are an ignorant person (IE racist or something). Just that when you say all of Linkin Park's songs sound the same or all the songs are about being an angst filled freshly dumped teen, it's not representative of the truth in any way. I was leery about LP too, but out of curiosity I decided to buy their first CD and thought it was pretty decent. Their remix CD is actually a ton better, it's just really damn cool, and the songs on it, IMO are quite varied. I am not saying anyone should love them, hell no. But to say they are repetitive or have no talent is ignorant of the true facts. The play and write all their music, produced their remix album, direct their videos, yada yada. They may not be original, but calling them talentless is ridiculous. Britney Spears is musically talentless. If they have no talent, why isn't every jackass making a 5 million selling album?

Possibly the funniest thing i have ever read. It's so true though, it is the reason i hate Creed. Honestly, i don't mind their music all that much, most of it anyways, but holy shit every time i saw that one video where he's in the boat, and the city is flooded or something, and he strikes his 'tortured jesus' pose literally like 20 times, i just got the urge to swing a bat at his face.
