Occido, did you ever get the piezo system put into any of your guitars?

Any guys here play a piezo pickup in their electric guitar or bass?

That video is funny. The giant oaf looks ridiculous and the old guy looks nervous as hell. It reminds me of a shitty local car dealership commercial.

I have a couple. They are absolutely fantastic.

Yeah I did. I had to order them from the interwebs because no place around here had them or had the options to special order them and unfortunately Guitar Center is over an hour away. But yes, I did get them and I must say... they're my favorite pickups.

So now, I use EMG's, Dimarzzio(sp) Air classics/Tone Zonez and Piezo.
Thanks for the recommendation for these things, they're badass.

Love that natural finish LP Custom. I looked for a natural finish for years, and had no luck. Settled on a tobacco sunburst.

Awesome, glad you like them. I am about to set up an inexpensive recording studio so I'm looking into setting up a piezo pickup on my guitar. I will be building an electric guitar eventually (7 or 8 string) for recording work as well.

This is my setup, nothing fancy, just a Schecter Diamond Series Jazz bass and a Ashdown 4x10 cab with a MAG 300 head. I've just gotten into the equipment side of playing, after playing on a shitty Ibanez 10-watt amp for a year. (the one hiding in the bottom right corner)

Wanted to get a first guitar, was looking at an Ibanez Gio. Anyone have experience with one?

Absolute trash.

You don't have to go balls out on your first guitar, but don't go cheap either. You can get a great entry-level axe these days from brands like Ibanez/Schecter for around $300-400. Go any lower than that, and you'll end up with something that plays like shit, sounds like shit, and most importantly for the new guitarist - will NOT stay in tune worth a damn. You'll spend more time tuning it than you will playing it, and instead of enjoying your new hobby, it'll be an exercise in frustration.

If you have a budget in mind, I can help point you at something decent that fits it, but definitely do NOT get a Gio.

"Piezo" isn't a brand though. What did you end up going with? Graphtech saddles?

I'm a sucker for a nice LP, you can find a nice used Epi for under 300. That's what I paid for mine.

Obviously this LA, and I don't know where you are, but I'm sure there are similar deals to be found: Les Paul Epiphone Electric Guitar

I know they're not a brand. I went with Graphtech Ghost saddles setup.

Edit** Graphtech and RMC are the only ones I know of that do these systems, are there any others?
I don't know too much about these pickups and 13 pin systems these things are all about. I actually had no clue they existed till Hathe turned me on to them some months back.
