Who was this band?

About 5 or 6 years ago, me and some friends were playing cards and drinking and I happened to flip the channel past A&E. They were broadcasting a music festival in what was Vancouver, I think. It was the last 10 minutes of the show and there was this band playing. It was a 3 piece band, the players were black, it seemed to be in the late 70's or early 80's.... and they were fucking Godlike. The lead guitarist/singer had several guitars on waist high stands and he played a virtuoso-esque guitar solo with one of the guitars on a stand while maintaing ryhthm with the guitar he was holding... Most amazing thing I've ever seen.

Anyhow the best way I could describe thier style was acoustic rock with a touch of jazz. We stopped playing cards and were mezmerized. When it was over we were all like "WHO IN THE HELL WAS THAT!?!?". the credits rolled and we either missed who it was or they didn't say. Any ideas?
