Dan Deacon - Bromst

Im really digging the new dan deacon. It seems a little settled down from Spiderman of the rings, alot of the songs are 6 min+ now. At times it kinda has a M83 vibe almost. Gonna be seeing him in a month, cant wait.

Fantastic album.

"Padding Ghost" is my favorite. Wish I could see him live, but he's playing in Texas right around Coachella time. Bah, oh well.

Great album though.

I'm also a fan, I think the album overall is better than Spiderman of the Rings, but doesn't have those epic moments that Spiderman had. Then again it'd be pretty damn hard to top Wham City. Dan Deacon is great.. was looking forward to this album for a long time, glad it didn't disappoint.

Check out these videos: Pitchfork: TV Pretty interesting stuff showing the making of the CD as well as Dan Deacon just goofing off and shit. That studio looks incredible.

Yeah I agree with the M83 comparison, its a good cd. The hampsters are still kicking it a little bit too in this one.

Try these instead:

Two of my favourites. Better than Get Older in my opinion and easier to get into if you aren't familiar with Dan Deacon.

Getting older reminds me of Secret of Mana music.

Dan Deacon is good, wish he wouldn't start so many of his songs with several minute long soft synth intros before kicking up with win.

Lol

That's why "Padding Ghost" is my fave, only about 20 seconds of jingling beats before killing it all the way through. I think that song is most like "Crystal Cat" in that regard too...
