+10 Internets | Hard to say, I'd say the new one but apparently my high-praising opinion of "Born Like This" isn't agreed on by others in the thread. My personal DOOM introduction was through his Special Herbs collection, 10 volumes of strictly beats. The neat thing is that a lot of the Special Herbs get used on his later albums that he rhymes over, but I like that I started with Special Herbs because that's a huge reason why DOOM is so good, his beat production is outstanding. However as for an actual release, that's tough to pin down. DOOM has released lots of album under lots of different aliases. Vaudeville Villain... King Geedorah... BUT TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION, it's not an official DOOM album, but it's DOOM & Madlib -- I'd listen to Madvillainy. So at least you'll hear one of the greatest hip-hop albums of our lifetime. That album is simply the best.

| I'd never heard him until this post, but I disagree. I think the guy is an insane rapper, perhaps the best I've ever heard, but his beats suck. I think if he had some great beats he'd be the shit. For the record, I downloaded Madvillainy 2, and this newest album. Maybe Madvillainy is better? |

| If you liked DOOM, i would start with... Madlib / Quasimoto , the guy he made the Madvilliany albums with. and DANGERDOOM, a collab he did with Danger Mouse that uses samples from Adult Swim on cartoon network in nearly every track. If you enjoyed the somewhat randomness of the lyrics check out Kool Keith/Dr.Octagon's older albums. If it was the beats... ill second, J Dilla as well as Oh No,Flying Lotus and Exile. Other independent Hip-hop i enjoy which i would consider high quality without repeating anything from the post above... | Thank you both very much. I listened to rap a lot during my teenage years, but it was always the popular artists I'd see on MTV. I gave it up around 19 and went back to metal/classic rock. The only rap I hear anymore is the painful shit they blast in the bars, or something I hear a person playing in a passing car. I didn't know there were talented wordslingers like these dudes. Definitely have respect again for rap. |

| Also don't forget Dangerdoom - the Mouse and the Mask which is a collaboration between him and Dangermouse (the guy responsible for the Gray Album mixing Jay-z and the Beatles). You want to hear Doom on some sick beats that record is it. Check out the track Benzi Box |

| "I'd bet a million dollars on DOOM vs Lil'Wayne" ~ Mos Def Mos Def reciting DOOM's verses and talking about his admiration of the guy. If you are a fan of DOOM, watch this shit, it had a smile on my face for all 7 minutes of it. |

| Sorry to bump this week old thread, but does anyone know of any online radio stations play beats like the ones in this thread? Would like to listen at work but Slacker and Pandora just aren't cutting it. |

+14 Internets | If you're just looking to play a particular song, Grooveshark is really good. They aren't a radio station but they are good for checking out new cd's and stuff. For making a radio station, I haven't found anything better than last.fm or Pandora.. |
