What's on your desk?

I'm fortunate enough to be able to listen to music while I work and I prefer to use CDs. Here's what's on my desk

Prodigy - Fat Of The Land
KRS-ONE - Retrospective
Queens Of The Stone Age - Music For The Deaf
King Tubbys Meets Rockers Uptown
Mad Professor+Jah Shaka - New Decade Of Dub
Big Black - The Rich Man's Eight Track Tape
Metallica - Ride The Lightning
Orbital - In Sides
Pixies - Bossanova
The Orb - Adventures Beyond Ultraworld
Autechre - Incunabula
Snuff - Reach
Shootyz Groove - Jammin' In Vicious Environments
Snuff - Flibbiddydibbiddydob
Beck! - Odelay
Squarepusher - Feed Me Weird Things
Depth Charge - Nine Deadly Venoms
Orbital - Insides

A lot of it is mood music. I'm a games developer and the downtempo stuff is for when things are going smoothly. Big Black is reserved for the most evil debugging

I also am able to listen to music at work. Instead of listening to CD's though, I have 1332 songs in my Winamp player right now

Work CDs...

Slayer - South of Heaven
Slayer - Seasons in the Abyss
Slayer - Reign in Blood
Metallica - ... and Justice For All
Metallica - Master Of Puppets
Iron Maiden - A Real Live Dead One
Iron Maiden - Live After Death
Iron Maiden - Number of The Beast
Iron Maiden - Power Slave
Mercyful Fate - Into The Unknown
Mercyful Fate - Melissa
Guns And Roses - Appetite For Destruction
AC/DC Back in Black

I mostly choose these because I can listen to the whole CD straight through, without taking the time to switch tracks and such, basically, I can set it and forget it for an hour til it's time to switch CDs.

All my CD's are in my dresser drawers

Except I have the Flaming Lips "Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots" (I just found it buried under a mound of Erving Goffman articles....gogo Sociology) and Pixies "Surfer Rosa". And I have Built to Spill's "Keep it Like a Secret" in my computer.

hehe you know Slipknot is lame when you see them on the same playlist as Dirty Vegas. God I hate that stupid gimmick band.

Since my entire CD rack is within arms reach of my computer desk, I generally only have what I'm currently playing in front of me. Currently playing, Dead Can Dance Box Set disc 3.
