Love Boat Captain
Cropduster
Ghost
I Am Mine
Thumbing My Way
You Are
Get Right
Green Disease
helphelp
Bushleaguer
1/2 Full

All or None

PJ will be on Letterman on the 15th. Touring in Australia first, US Tour will happen, to set dates.

I am currently listening to this album and I have mix reviews.

This has to be the most melow PJ album to date. You won't find any Evenflow's or Porch's on this album. But of course they got some awesome songs....

Love Boat Captain (super bad ass)
THumbing My Way
I am Mine
Save You

I'll be picking it up as well.

Most of my friends now really dislike or are indifferent to Pearl Jam, I guess they were expecting them to continue cranking out Jeremy and Evenflow soundalikes for their career. And honestly, I wouldn't have minded all that much if that's what they continued to do.

However I have quite liked all of their albums, it's nice that they continue to change and modify their sound, as opposed to just continuing to sound the same. They have balls to do that.

Of note: every Pearl Jam album has sold less than the last one. I think Binaural only sold 800K copies (but maybe that's just in the US, although that's still not many at all).

Yeah but Binaural wasn't all that great either. I thought Yield did pretty good sales wise. Maybe I'm just on crack.

Any other thoughts on Binaural? I found it lacking... passion (I guess thats the word I am looking for). And the first riff of the first song on Binaural made me spill my drink. It was a complete rip-off of the opening riffs of The Who's "I Can See for Miles", a song that was written back in 1967. Now I know that Vedder is a big The Who fan and does a lot of Who covers - but to start blatantly copying music was just a bit of shock to me.

I like most of Binaural, but not all of it. My personal favorites of the album are:

Breakerfall
God's Dice
Light Years
Nothing As It Seems
Of The Girl (This is one of my favorite PJ Songs of all time )
Grievance
Soon Forget

These might sound like their lacking passion on the album, but if you EVER get the chance to hear them perform live do it no matter what it takes. They put more passion and energy into their songs live than just about any band I've ever seen live.

I picked up Riot Act yesterday and I really like the album cover and the inside. Ohh yea, the songs are good too. The sound is definitely mellower.

It's going to be interesting to see what they do now, being that this is their last album on the Sony label. Some people think they are going to call it quits, but I have a hard time believing that.

Just saw them on Letterman, they're sounding good, i'm not a huge fan, so i didnt even know what their new song sounded like. Holy shit, Eddie Vedder looks so much different than the last time i saw him.
