| Sisters of Mercy Someone mentioned Joy Division, but considering that Ian Curtis commited suicide in early 1980 I would hardly call them an 80's band ![]() Red Lorry Yellow Lorry Fields of the Nephilim Anne Clark The Fair Sex |

| Ummm WTF????? Am I missing something here? I was born in '79 so I was young during the 80s but I still remember the music.... .....and was The Police not the best band from that decade? I mean, wtf is a'matter with you people?!?!?!?! Were they 70's or something? I know they got their start in the 70's but they pwned the 80's right? Am I wrong? Did I forget something? By rule, I really dislike 80's music but The Police pwned, and always will pwn, the 80's. wtf? ![]()

| Goddammit Gerbil!!!!! I was scrolling down through the posts, thinking I'd be the first one to name the best band of the 80's. . .and there you are, right above me now. Police were far and away greater than any other band out there at the time. Stewart Copeland still blows my mind with his insane chops. Dude is an absolute maniac. /salute The Police |

| hrm Metallica used to ownz! Nah, I got nothin against Metallica, I even like some tracks off Load and Reload (Poor Twisted Me), they are a good band. But as far as overall quality and talent goes, The Police were better.
