| I am not a big LL fan either, but when your talking battle raps, he has had them going for 20 years and comes out on top all the time...did you hear his Can-I-Bust song on the sampler from DMX's first CD? The Blueprint was nothing compared to Reasonable Doubt, his albums are going downhill fast cause his material is getting thin. I do not want to hear him telling me how great Roc-a-Fella is on every song, or how much name brand shit he owns. I could give a shit less, come up with something to rhyme about. The Blueprint 2, well first CD is ass, and the 2nd one sounds better so far but I haven't got all the way through it yet. His song on the 8-maile sound track was horrid, just listining to the hook makes we want to vomit. Jay-Z's ego has gotten bigger than his lips, it's clearly on display there. Ether's disses were more accurate, Eminem did destroy Jay on his own song. Even Jay-z admits to biting Nas's material, and how many times do you hear Jay spit out one of Biggie's lines? Let's not even bring up his beef with Ruff Ryders. Nas is a better artist than Jay-z for 2 reasons, more origional material, and coming out with a style that nearly every rapper since Illmatic has stolen something from. Ruff Ryders > Roc-a-fella any day...its not even close. |

| Nas is probably the better artist, but Jay z is undoubtedly the better entertainer and when I pop in a CD, what am I looking for but entertainment? True, hearing about ROC and Jayz's umpteenth millionth pair of Air Forces gets tiring, but it is fun every once in a while. Nas at times is too serious, and not as fun to listen to. For example, Rewind is a great track, but if you were to listen to it every day, the whole sung backwards thing would just get old. However, I could listen to Hardknock Life every day for the rest of my life and never hate it. |

| Rewind is a good example. Of how much more creative Nas is than Jay-Z. The ability make a conceptual song. Yes, I sometimes skip it when listining to that CD because after hearing it X amount of times I am tired of it, but that can be said for any song really. Thats why I own as many CD's as I do, so I can listen to something I haven't for a while and be entertained by it. I get the impression Jay-z is just trying to make anything that will get radio play in an attempt to sell records, while listing to Nas I get the idea that he takes what he does more seriosly and its trying to acomplish something. He may never have the crossover appeal of Jay-z, but thats because it sometimes takes thought to understand his topics, as opposed to Jay-z's mindnumbing dance club tracks... come on, he used the Annie theme song? I don't hate Jay, I have all his albums, but really the seem to constantly be getting worse. His new CD (finally finished listing to it) is his worst yet, 25 songs which could easily be reduced to 8 and cover pretty much all the same stuff. Sadly it is carried by guest appreances more than Jay himself, and I can't keep track of the number of Nas, Biggie and Tupac lines that come out of Jay's mouth on Blueprint 2. He even takes some jabs at DMX, he really shouldn't go there. Someone close needs to slap him in a room, and force him to listen to Resonable Doubt and then Blueprint 1 and 2 repeatedly, maybe he will get the point after that. And yes BHo, his ego is approximatly 3x the size of his lips. But will start defalting if he keeps up his current pace. There are hungrier artist out there putting out new and fresh material, if he can't get off his pedestal and get with the program, he's gonna get left behind. |

+13 Internets | I listened to Reasonable Doubt just the other day and I agree that it is Jay's best and most complete album....none of his others even come close. As for Nas, I love Illmatic and It was written...didn't care for any of the others much. Shit I like: Public Enemy (first 4 albums) A Tribe Called Quest (all albums but especially low end theory) Dre Cube DMX (first 2 albums) B.I.G (first 2 albums) Snoop (gah so much crap in there after the first album but hey..it's snoop) Outkast (all of it, but if I could only keep one...Atliens) Ludacris Mystikal Roots Eminem Cocoa Brovaz (check out the track "Super Brooklyn") Timbaland Method Man 2pac Mos Def Tricky Old LL Cool J Beastie Boys Clipse What sucks: anything produced by Master P anything produced by Mannie Fresh anything produced by Swizz (dude take some of that money and buy a new fucking beat already) Will Smith |

+10 Internets | Damn... if forgot Public Enemy in the "good all days" part of my post... Don't believe the hype! 911 is a joke! Burn Hollywood Burn! Musicaly speaking it's still very unique... that sonic magma made of beats, archives and scratches that the Bomb Squad was producing is something I never heard again. Not even in the latest PE... hehe omw to listen to my Fear of a Black Planet album ![]()

+13 Internets | It Takes A nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back Would probably make my top 5 rap albums of all time for sure. That album was so far ahead of its time. No one was doing anything remotley close to what the bomb squad was doing back then. Flawless Masterpiece |
