| You are not damn right | What program for downloading music? I checked on the "best programs" list or whatever but couldn't find one. I used to use limewire like a year ago, but have 5k+ songs and havent really needed more lately but feeling like maybe i want to make some updates. So, is it still limewire? I don't want to download some new version thats going to drop some hot spyware all over my system.

| If you don't care about lossless sound quality, there's this place called youtube that puts up not only the audio, but videos along with it. |

| i usually just google: "albumname" rapidshare or "albumname" megaupload and download directly from one of these sites. if this doesn't work, i check soulseek and bittorrent (demonoid/isohunt/pirate bay) |

| Soulseek for individual songs. As mentioned by Bornalon, you can get a lot of popular albums on blog posts if you google rapidshare/megaupload after the album title. For more rare full albums, torrents are the way to go. Torrentz.com is a pretty good place, since it searches a lot of the popular public torrent websites and spits out results. Once you get into the swing of public torrent websites, register and start using private ones--there's a ton more to choose from. |

| I am still a proponent of Ruckus if you have access to a .edu email address (make sure you lie and say that you're still a student though). They have had a vast majority of the music that I want and the ability to search, download, and listen at a rate much faster than I could have otherwise accomplished. The only down side is that you'll need to remove the 30-day DRM to put it on an MP3 player / listen to it without WMP.
