| I actually just missed Nirvana. It's not like I actually looked up every 3 man band possible to put on this poll, and I thought I did a decent enough job. That being said, no suicidial idiot with 2 good songs is going to hold a candle to Rush. |

+8 Internets | Beastie Boys could probably count as a band, but overall rap trios not so much overall for what the poll seems to be about. Primus is a bit of a notable absence, Nirvana not so much IMO. I voted Rush, but The Police definitely deserved a nod there too, good pull on that. The raw talent, creativity, longevity, depth, and versatility of Rush put them far and away past any other band on there to me. Not that the other bands aren't worthwhile, but they can't really rank on the same list as Rush in terms of lifetime achievement type status. Last edited by Fammaden : 07-12-2008 at 12:19 PM. |

+8 Internets | You could probably have a separate list for punk and maybe even subdefine as just indie. Dinosaur Jr. (though you would really be voting for Mascis), Minutemen/firehose, Melvins, Sebedoh, John Spencer, Violent Femmes, Big Black, Morphine. You could go Green Day, Everclear, Nirvana, Presidents of the USA, Blink 182 for more poppy stuff. Young Fresh Fellows were a trio, yes? If you're into jambands you could name a few as well. MMW, Govt. Mule, North Mississippi All Stars, Bela Fleck and the Flecktones after the pianist dude left although I consider their better work to be as a four piece. I'd have to give Minutemen a huge nod on the indie/punk scene myself. |

| Well, as long as the first post was prefaced w/ the statement that Rush wasn't needed to be included, as trying to compare anyone to them is like comparing man to god, I think it would have been cool. It's like when you ask someone who the best skater of all time is, the question has a generally understood exclusion of the obvious answer, Rodney Mullen, because frankly, it just isn't fucking fair to include him.
