| Stop running back to old times | Need some help in "expanding" I try to listen as much stuff as possible, but most of my friends listen to the exact same things I listen to. Gonna paste a list of the kind of music I have on my computer, it's not all of it, but I listen to most of it. If there is a trend you see or something you guys might think I'd like, I'd really appreciate it. | Try a band called Jawbox, they had a good album during the mid-nineties called "For your own special sweetheart". It's somewhat along the lines of some of the bands/styles you listed, kind of grungey with a bit of a hard rock edge. |

+38 Internets | My usual Canadian post grunge rock band recommendations: Moist / David Usher Our Lady Peace (Naveed, skip the rest) I Mother Earth (skip Blue Green Orange, rest is great) The Watchmen The Headstones The Tragically Hip (Everything up to Day For Night, then it gets spotty) Danko Jones The Trews Metric Sam Roberts The Tea Party (especially Splendor Solice and Edges of Twilight, these are classics) Others: Catherine Wheel Stereophonics There's lots more, but I'm too lazy to get my Zune. |

+11 Internets | Oh yeah forgot to add....BIG WRECK. If you like Zeppelin'ish rock with vocals that make you think, "OMG, is that Cornell of the early 90's singing?", then Big Wreck is for you. As a musician and a HUGE listener of music (nearly 200gb of mp3's), Big Wreck is one that gets a listen at least once every couple of weeks. |
