And to the guy who gave me shit in comments about comparing Aerosmith in the 70's to Led Zepelin, you need to do some reading up on 70's rock. Aerosmith was amongst the biggest and most successful bands during that decade, whether or not you want to admit it. You can argue which band was actually better all you want (and I'd unequivocally agree it's the Zep of course), but to say that Aerosmith doesn't deserve to be spoken of in the same sentence as them is just flat out ignorant.

| It was me, and I was most certainly not talking about success as I couldn't give a fuck less about that. I was talking about quality, and no Aerosmith doesn't belong in the same universe in that regard, let alone the same sentence. There is not a single Zeppelin song I don't like and that's pretty fucking incredible, where as Aerosmith has entire albums I would flush down the toilet as soon as listen to. |

Personally, I would take just about any Aerosmith over Zep any day of the week. I like the original Dream On a LOOOOOTTTTTT better than the remake too. Same old Song and Dance ftw too. God help us if David Lee Roth had stayed with Van Halen though. They're still the greatest band ever to me but they might have been to a lot more poeple. I did some reading on itunes reviews of the last Van Halen box set where they alternated Hagar songs w/ DLR songs shitting up the DLR songs and then at the end Sammy had like 3 songs straight like he was the better singer and better era. I call that some horse shit. For every person that likes Van Hagar there's a thousand saying fuck some Van Hagar because they were so much fukn better w/ DLR. Despite DLR being an ass he was a much better front man than Sammy could ever dream of being. I'd like to kick Van Halen's asses for being so fukn stupid.

| Your wrong bro. It's an indisputable fact that Led Zeppelin is one of the 3 greatest rock bands to ever exist if not the greatest. If it's not your cup of tea, then you don't know how to rock my friend. |

| I could list all the shit I listen to that does rock but it doesn't really include Zeppelin. Top 3 greatest bands or not I do not like them. I just don't like their sound. Almost all Zeppelin songs have a distinct sound to them and I guess I just hate it. If I had to choose a top band I would probably still choose Van Halen because their music makes me happy. I mean I can jam to Van Halen and feel good, most music doesn't come close to that. I love Alice in Chains but after listening to them I feel like shit if I listen to too much of it. It's not just about that though, those rifts are awesome, memories of the show DLR put on being bigger than life, memories of the good music (not the shit) that came out of the 80s. One reason I probably prefer Van Halen is they didn't stay together to ruin themselves. Maybe they would have just played out into some mediocre band another album or 2 later but as it is they will live on as the greatest potential band EVER imo and some really awesome songs. I know the story with most other bands, they all go down in flames at some point it seems. Alice in Chains, Nirvana, Hendrix, The Doors, Aerosmith, Pearl Jam (after the first album), Pantera, The Misfits, Rage Against the Machine, Soundgarden, etc etc etc etc

| i'm not real keen on zeppelin either. most of their shit is too slowish / not hard enough for me to rock to. if you want to argue that i don't know how to rock, i'm going to argue that i prefer my rock in stronger, more concentrated doses. a few of their songs i love (immigrant song for one) but all in all i strongly prefer black sabbath to zeppelin. |

| There is no internets | Honestly, I prefer a lot harder shit that Zep. I like more metal than just plain rock. Not saying Zep isnt any good, but to me at least, they arent really metal. Agreeing with Keg on two notes here. Sabbath over Zep and VH over Aerosmith.

| I've always thought Van Halen was one of the worst musical acts ever. I do mean ever. There is nothing more shameful in human history than 80's glam rock and Van Halen pretty much personifies it. Not that Aerosmith is all that much better, but this is a no brainer vote.

Van Halen is more the Hair Metal big arena rock songs, Poison Warrant, fucking Nelson, that was glam rock where the guys were more models than anything else. Roth certainly wasn't in that category.

Zeppelin has plenty of faster/harder rock songs but I will agree they have a lot of slower stuff as well but it's still damn good music whether or not you can "rock" to it. edit: and also Van Halen is arena rock, not glam.
