Do those really count tho? They started with comedy as their root, not a liberal commentary. Just because the ideas expressed are left leaning, I still think of them as comedy shows.

Don't confuse networks and their news divisions. FOX always was a VERY liberal channel, despite their news division growing into a conservative behemoth. Why? Because Rupert Murdoch doesn't give a shit about American Liberalism versus American Conservatism, he isn't even American, and all he wants to do is make money. FOX News is a business that fills a (rather large) niche solely for the purpose of making money, not because they actually believe in that shit. So yeah, it's successful, but to what end? Really just to make more money for some guy who isn't even American.

Outside of it's news division, Fox is still pretty liberal isn't it? They have no problem putting anything on television that will make money. Like any other channel. If it will make money, it will be on the airwaves.
