I KNOW I was 100% right, I didn't fucking need to give you Strickland's unequivocal refusal of Obama's ticket to show you how divided and distrustful the classic democrats are of the the radical antiwar liberals that Obama represents, that's evident to anyone who can analyze the facts he couldn't help but observe during the last five months.

But instead of giving us anything to refute what has been said about Obama countless times, that FagOfFag dork tries to snipe a "GOTCHA" then slinks off into ignore and you think he's somehow reasonable for that?

| i don't think there's serious problems in the democratic party. hillary is a selfish whore so she drug it out as long as possible. for anyone that loved her and pretends to hate obama...they just need a little time. i'm sure some might hold a grudge for longer, but it won't be many. they will be voting obama in november. even the dumbass feminists will eventually realize obama is more in line with their stances than mccain. i will second the notion that the republicans have a far worse problem in this regard. it's painfully obvious that quite a number of them don't support or like mccain and it's been that way for a long time. maybe they go vote for him anyways or maybe they just stay home. back to the topic...yeah rush and hannity are full of shit. so are some liberal radio hosts. don't listen to them. if you care about other people listening to them then offer those people an alternative. |

I know you must be aware that the Democratic nomination was a brutal slugfest on par with the (disastrous) McGovern campaign, so you must also be aware that Obama kinda skated along with a 200-delegate lead in early JUNE, that's a lead of less than 5% of the total delegates and the contest was bitter and undecided until just over a couple months before the convention. Whereas the Republicans chose their candidate in February, with a margin of 1,575 delegates for McCain and 267 delegates for Huckabee. That's a margin of about 70% of the total delegates and the contest was concluded decisively in February. Uh. Now, I voted for Huckabee myself, and to say that I was surprised at the outcome is an extreme understatement. Actually, the sensation was closer to shellshock. And I'm still not really sure where all these moderate/independent republicans came from who chose McCain so resoundingly, but I assure you, anyone who tells you that the Republican party is "divided" or "uncertain" about the election is willfully ignoring how quickly, how thoroughly and how TOTALLY McCain commanded the approval of the Republican party. There is simply just no way shape or form that the ultra-conservative voices like Anne Coulter and James Dobson can matter anymore when they have been so vocal in their opposition to McCain for months prior to the primaries and yet he still somehow racked up such a historic victory.

| There are a few good points to make, however. I think the "fight" between obama and hillary is hyped by the media and some on the right because they want it to be a "brutal slugfest". I just don't see it as being that bad. It's a contest and both of them wanted to win it. Some rabid hillary supporters may be angry now, but I just don't see them being angry in november. Not most of them anyways. Once they have time to think things over they will realize obama is a far better choice for them. If for no other reason then it will be for the judges. Also we must consider the differences in nomination. The democrat's way lends itself to making the race last longer. The republican way makes it easier for an earlier knockout punch. That doesn't mean mccain has tons of support within his own party. It's very obvious that mccain has a more difficult time with his own party than obama will. This will be more clear in a few months since obama just recently finished her off. Mccain has had several months now to get everyone to support him, yet he still has a problem with it.
