The Fairness Doctrine was unconstitutional. Also, the FCC should not be regulating the content of non-broadcast media. Don't give them that power, you won't like what they do with it. I say this as someone who is about as far to the radical left as possible.

It is important, it's just a poor way to do it. A better way would be to strengthen libel laws, so you can't just flat out lie on TV.

Very, very slippery slope.

I am a conservative moderate, imo anyways. I cant stand Rush, nor Sean. I immediately turn the channel or just choose not to listen to them on the radio. But the same could be said for Air America. Conservative hate, Liberal hate and the fact that Dems and Reps hate each other is exactly what is wrong with our government today. Instead of fixing problems they are too busy pointing fingers at each other over who created the problem or who they "think" is the problem.

There is nothing wrong with being a Conservative, just as much as there is nothing wrong with being Liberal. Suppressing PoVs though is one step closer to suppressing the very essence of the US. As much as I would like to personally suppress IRB, I know if we didnt have his PoVs we wouldnt to at the very least see another perspective of issues going on today. Right or Wrong.

And Obama is going change things how exactly, Kolle? Because of his amazing ability as a legislator? Oh, you mean maybe Obama will be able to unite the fractured political fabric of the Democratic party that REMAINS sooo embittered after the nomination battle that Clinton Supporters refuse to have anything to do with Obama (like how Ohio's Ted Strickland unequivocally refused running as Obama's VP).

Obama won't be able to heal the democratic party not because of anything HE did wrong, but because of a systemic failure of the party's leadership leading up to this election. When the Dean/Pelosi radical junta prostituted the party of Pat Moynihan and Tip O'Neill to the radical antiwar left, the civil war we're seeing now was practically assured and noone, not Obama, not Clinton and certainly not Howard Dean can hope to fix it.

i don't listen to hannity or rush. i don't listen to the liberal talk shows either. some of the hosts just sound annoying. hardly any of them seem to really know what they are talking about. it sounds like they are just spitting out whatever pops in their mind, whether they gave it any serious thought or not.

my listen time is better spent with music or entertainment like coast to coast.


i wouldn't want to make it illegal to voice opinions. i'm atheist and religion is bullshit. religious people are brainwashed idiots. even though, i wouldn't want religion to be outlawed. people need to shake off the brainwashing and decide for themselves or there's not much point to any of it.

The core assumption behind the democrats' recent "rediscovery" of the Fairness Doctrine is that there was a vast disparity between opinion sources when in fact that's only true in Talk Radio. In the rest of the media the bias tends to be liberal.
